You guys do understand that this suggestion is actually pretty good and some games have FPS improving measures OR/AND PvP "friend or foe identification" features with a "by-product" of "neutral" clothing. ArcheAge for example has a setting that turns all character's clothing to the same one. So this suggestion isn't that outlandish even through it is presented in a way that isn't agreeable to a lot (most?) of people.
Cheers.
P.S. This feature was so needed when Rifts were a thing.
Thank you. As I have mentioned before in this post, I have given up trying to modify the games' files. The game updates too much and the patches take too much time. That is why I have posted this suggestion requesting the patch to be a "built-in option", I suppose you could say, to the game. I actually looked at the PC limit option before, and I admit it is an improvement, however it does not affect NPCs and only lowers PCs down to 10. Disabling people entirely isn't the best option anyway, as I cannot see friends in that case either.
Like I said, it is an improvement though, and if my suggestion doesn't go through, before I give up on TERA entirely I will give a go at changing all of the video settings to see what I can accomplish. Thank you for your time.
ZagatoMKR:
Thanks for your response. I appreciate that your perspective on this is different from most of the people that have responded so far (not that I'm saying there's anything bad with other responses - just that variety is good). Perhaps I should make it more clear in my original post that this can be added as an optimization option, I have been getting the feeling that my post isn't being thoroughly read by everyone and they may not ever see where I suggested it.
PhoenixKiss (again):
I am not trying to take away anyone's bought fashion, and I am not sure what you mean by this. As I have said before, this option is client-side only. It would only affect the people who wanted it turned on. I also understand that you are not trying to be negative - I don't think Zagato was specifically targeting you with his comment, he was referring to the comments in general. Thank you again for your opinions on the issue of how I should deal with mature content.
oh please you know well enough that the OP did not make this suggestion thread with these reasons in mind, no where did he mention wanting to censor everyones' clothes just for a FPS increase.
plus Tera once had this feature during the alliance conflicts, everyone wore the same sort of costumes during those just in the specific colour of your alliance. (and to my recollection they showed very little skin) and let me tell you no one's fps was increased because of it
I actually did mention that in my original post:
Of course, it wasn't my main reason, but I did suggest it. Either way, the reason for implementing the feature does not make other uses invalid.
"The Underwear Potion"
That actually made me laugh out loud. It is unfortunate to hear that they have stopped putting much effort into TERA and, sadly, I see your point here. I actually think I will update the main post with a mention of The Underwear Potion when I get around to implementing all of the edits in my list. I suppose a paid-for solution is better than no solution at all.
"the excuse"
dude!!! c'mon!!! stop killing your own arguments here!! i'm losing my mind
gonna stop posting here cause clearly our views are basically on opposite ends of the world and there probably ain't no way i'm not gonna find your idea of 'appropriate' (tera is rated M remember) borderline offensive. so good luck to you and all that.
Alright. Thank you for your time. Good luck to you as well.
That is good advice. I will not edit the game's files. Thank you.
