Wonderholme was actually quite whimsical, I'd actually enjoy another dungeon with details like that.
In case anyone wondering what they look like in video form:
I'll be fair here: I really want some crazy cutesy dungeon, maybe some completely nonsensical gigantic pink bunny last boss, full of 75% HP hits, one shots and all kind of stuff like that while showing rainbows and all kinds of weird colorful effects with some cutesy music on background.
No, really, I DO want some Alice in Wonderland madness dungeon, I think it would fit like a glove with all the current accessories and stuff, while still being fun exactly because it's so weirdly cutesy while deadly.
As said, the game starts off light hearted and has tons of adorable places like Sealiewood and such, I mean if that place wasn't made for date RPing, I have no idea what it was made for. I think the creators dreamed of one day getting trapped in the game SAO style and they felt they needed a cute dating place to chill out.
It's mostly the end-game that is oh-so-brutal and some of the dungeons while leveling. If you take leveling for example, you find many cutesy quests, some were removed like finding the lost doggy and so on. Kumasylum and Kumas Royale where always that crazy gigantic toy box style.
What I do give it, is that they are focusing MORE on the cosmetics than on the rest of the game, and this is detrimental for sure. Tho I honestly cannot agree with people who b!tch about the cosmetics and how they "Break immersion" cause world is a medieval fantasy and such and want them removed and all... uhh come on these people likely even entered TERA already with the dorky Camaro mounts.
I'm all in for making more and more cute AND cool/edgy/whatever floats your boat type of cosmetics, but if they also turn more towards the game's content development. Even I admit that Elin Gunner is a quick cash grab, and you guys also have to admit that male Brawler is exactly the same, even tho I'm happy about them both coming.
This. Even the old character select screen looked like this (https://bucket.bluegartr.com/233e45324fac86b716532d574d212e7b.png). Things get grim and somewhat dark if you follow the storyline, yes, but the trend of having the entire story steeped in grimdark edginess from start to finish really only began after they tore down the island of dawn and replaced the character select screen with an edgy death march through the war torn plains.
THAT SAID, I think this cosmetic item looks terrible and I really can't stand when my favorite games release special-snowflake garbage like this. Why should anyone leave a trail? Ugh.
