Rewards shouldn’t matter much, we get so many events that there’s no point in QQing about rewards. You’re just leveling a character to 65, which takes maybe a day to two. Stop. Asking. For. Handouts.
They are not though. NA rewards are just different.
most cases not, check broker lol
While there's plenty of points to be made towards not giving frostmetal to players, giving out really poor or near useless items to players for an event is also really detrimental to the games longevity. Just because we get frequent events doesn't mean they should feel unrewarding and unsatisfying.
Especially so when it's an event that involves something as mundane and boring as levelling a new character. It would be so incredibly easy to make the event more fun, and more enjoyable for the general player base.
An example? Make the first box you open give players a 1-day BoP big-head, boom, bobblehead levelling event. It's funny, it introduces some flair to the boring levelling.
Too intrusive? Give players a random 1-day random costume box at each level milestone, if it's random everyone will feel somewhat unique, and it gives players who don't have money for costumes something nice while they level their new character. The costumes would be frequent enough that you wouldn't have to look the same all the way from 1-65 either.
As for proper rewards, rather than giving players noctenium elixirs which are honestly just bad for new players to have as soon as they reach endgame, give out x10 strong bravery and strong canephora potions. They're given out often enough elsewhere that it wouldn't break the economy, they're more useful for newer 65's, while being an item players should expect to obtain and use, unlike noctenium elixirs.
Instead of trash one-use crystalbinds, give out stacks of x10-20 semi-enigmatics, they can be helpful for newer players that don't get stat rolls right, older players can break them down for entropics or sell them, and while not super rare they hold 1,000X more value that trash crytalbinds.
Give players a set of weapon niveots instead of just throwing crystalbinds at them. Most players will pick up dozens of crystalbinds when they go to island of dawn, but you have to manually buy niveots for your weapon for some reason, resulting in lots of people in IMS with 4X pounding, something other bad crystal setup, or cruxes. This honestly needs to be fixed in general though.
Instead of just giving 500 golden talents, give out 60~ T1 enchanting boxes (the IoD ones), the golden talents are about equivalent but the enchanting boxes would give proper materials that would allow a player to get to twistshard (given they have the money), instead of leaving them with tonnes of talents and no materials.
Replace gem boxes with 1 emerald. Removing the RNG while giving players 3k total gold wouldn't break the economy. Newer players NEED the gold when they reach 65 to learn skills and upgrade guardian/twistshard with their exorbitant gold costs.
Give players a free permanent auto-loot pet, not a crappy 15 day version. Events like Kyra's give auto-loot pets out like candy, and even buddy-up gives a permanent auto-loot pet. It seems silly that one event gives out 5-10+ permanent auto-loot pets, but a levelling event for new characters (and hopefully new players in general) is too stingy to give a single permanent auto-loot pet.
There's a whole host of other ways to improve the rewards as well without giving out free power creep to a new player. There's also a lot of back-end things that could be improved to make these events run smoother and work better in future in general, like scripting the addition of extra channels to zones with only 1 channel prior to the event starting, or reducing respawn times. Making low level vanguards reward boxes stay even if the player is capped, so players don't miss out on high level crystals or other rewards. All this along with a host of other things would make events go so much better and appease more (not all) players.
Practically all the new players that I have meet in the last half of year don't complain about these rewards and if anything they are enjoying it, and I am talking about enought people to fit in 3 guilds.
These kinds of complains only shows that people still want free gear with not dedication at all. Playing an alt for 8-10 hours to get Frostmetal is not dedication at all.
If you really think EU Tera is 99% better than NA Tera then I would question why you keep being here.
The game actually already has had more than one easy way to obtain full sets of weapon, armor and even jewelry crystals. The issue is they break them and just go with what ever is found or cheap due to lack of understanding on the importance of crystals. This means giving them yet another free set won't fix this problem and will instead further devalue the crystals. This is why I think crystals breaking should honestly just be removed (it adds nothing of value to the game) and certain crystals also simply be removed due to them being dated and noob trap.
but I want to use mine in Closers QQ
