hello! first of all, i'm glad that you like my work.
now, are you saying an artist has to charge $2-$7 dollars for a piece just because "it's nothing but a drawing"? a lot of artists need to eat, you know? yes, they can make money with a job like everyone else does and a lot of course, do. nothing wrong with that. but... may i ask what's wrong with wanting to make money with something that you enjoy doing, without having to be dirt cheap? especially considering that most of these aren't 10 minute works, but 5 hours works or more. which also depends on how complex a piece is and how experienced the artist is in working in a faster phase, or a slower one.
besides, i think people can spend their money however they like as well. if they want to spend $70 on a drawing, then they can. no? same thing if they want to pay $200, or even way higher for a painting that the they get to hang in their home's walls. you may not be interested in that, which is perfectly fine. but that doesn't mean you can put down an artist by saying their work is only worth $2 just because it's a simple drawing. if people enjoy art and want to pay for it, why the need of saying how "expensive" it is or how "not worthy" it is? well no offense, but you can also just stay in your areas of interest and let others be.
i don't force my prices upon anyone. if someone is able to and considers my art to be worth it, then they're more than welcome to support and commission me. if someone doesn't like my prices, thinks they're not worth it, etc. whatever reason. then that's okay too.
so if you think i'm just "being avaricious" and "too expensive", well i respect your opinion. but just as i respect it, please respect that this is how much i charge for my art and i'm not forcing you or anyone to pay for it.
no no, no need to apologize! i appreciate your words! ;v;
I just wanted to say this is not the place to do that, is like doing a call out since you are trying to defame her or something for being "avaricious".
The art section of the forums is not for this. Her post is for promotion of her sales. You have no place coming here to pretty much insult her for her prices AND on top of it now for her supose lack of knowledge in the art program she uses to work with.
If you have an issue about anything related to her art, you could have taken it with her privately, contacting her through a private message or through discord. There is a time and a place to do certain things, and the art part of the forums is not it, so I kindly ask you to drop the argument at take it privately.
Lulupon I hope you can contact a GM to delete the last few posts so they don't keep on ruining your art thread.
And yes, as you said you SHOULD have done that and go ask for art somewhere else, where you think the price is fair and you are willing to pay it instead of pointing fingers.
Look, I like her style, but I'm too poor to afford a 75 dollar comission and she didn't take my past offer for an elite voucher, so guess what? I haven't been able to buy art from her. But do you see me complaining all over her art post saying that is overpriced or that she should change her prices? No. Because everyone is free to charge as much or as little as they want to for their work and is for them to decide. Besides, art is not a necesity, is more of a luxury, so if someone can afford a $75 drawing and wants to pay for it is their choice as well.
I don't know why you got so fixated with one artist in particular, I've seen other artist charge as much or more for similar pieces.
Anyways this is the last thing I say because I think u missunderstood what I said I hope this cleares it out and we can drop the matter. I will at least because I'm only contributing to ruining this post wich I don't wanna do, so I apologise about that in advance and I'll take my leave now.
It's quite clear you refuse to accept how the art industry works. It's as simple as you don't like it? Don't buy it and move on. Patreon is a great platform for creators to be in touch directly with their audience that want to support what they do while at the same time their audience gets great perks like tutorials or even free art giveaways. I quite adore Lulupons work and am interested in purchasing a commission myself. If I were her I would charge more. Nobody is forcing you to buy her work. It's really a shame when self entitled people like you come in and tell people how and how not to market themselves.
i'm overwhelmed by everyone's kindness and positive responses. ; ; a thank you wouldn't be enough to thank all of you. i'm not good with words rn either... but it makes me so happy to hear all of you like my art, that you have so many nice things to say and that you even took the time to stand up for me. @Cottony , @Margarethe , @Toadette , @Inora , @Oppabo , @Yarinu , @CandyMomoko , @Xeiryl , @Feenox , @Sofas , @Elmacanon & @JXE5356AKE . hope i didn't forget anyone but really thank you so much. it means a lot to me ♥ ♥ ♥ it is obvious this person will keep going, filling my thread with drama so i will refrain from being around in it. but i just want you guys to know i'm very thankful.
my artworks have their price set, like my work but not the price? i understand. but i do *not* need to consider anything. my prices were already set before i made this thread and i did not ask for ideas on what to price my commissions, especially not like this. i already did that before i even posted this, with people that have previously commissioned other artists before. ok? thanks, but i'm good.
mind you, by the way. didn't even look at the prices right because a half body is $55, not $75.
there's really no need to repeat things like a broken record. this is not "defending yourself" anymore it's plain trolling and it was all uncalled for. so, i am the only one with "outrageous" prices around here you say? i invite you to take a look around in the forums again. or did you just feel like picking on my thread to cause drama for no reason? a lot of artists in here or in other places charge the same or more. not like any of us told you that before though, right?
no one made me have bad assumptions about you, you did it yourself by coming here and giving me comments no one asked for. thus, causing drama. so you can now feel proud of yourself, and please stop replying. no one of us wants to hear it anymore.
@Stlex i have remade it now! you can pm me or add me in discord if you're still interested whenever you like. thank you for the support and the nice words! ;w; ♥
still can't believe this person keeps replying to be honest... someone must have fun being a wannabe troll. ; ;
