  • Threads like this make me sad.. honestly, I feel like I'm playing TERA these days not because I genuinely enjoy the game anymore, but because of the memories of the game I used to love. Most of the people on my friends list haven't logged on in over 2 years, some 4. With the exception of new patches and occasional BG & CU, I feel like I'm playing only for dailies now... there's no gm or community events to look forward to, no competition anymore. Part of the reason I stay is because of the few friends I have left, the other part of me hopes that BHS will put in effort to bring players back, however unlikely that is.

same here. there are times I just walk or fly around looking and remembering the times when it used to be fun. them removing content from the game is one of the reasons I don't spend real money on the game anymore. I feel like bhs does the bare minimum to keep tera open, and that they pretty much gave up on it for whatever reasons. its just my opinion. I was hoping that with tera coming to consoles that maybe the older content would be included, but sadly it isn't. I log in sometimes, and I play in spurts, but that's about it.
  • The world. Most of it.

I can somehow understand why they wanted to make leveling faster and easier, but... you know, it was always sad for me how you go through the world while leveling, and then you just don't need it anymore (even though fraction quests allowed to travel through OW a bit more). But now quests are cut, leveling is streamlined and easy to the max, so you basicaly don't even experience the world from the very start. The game have quite a big world, and it's just useless. Despite having the "world", the game is just one step from being the kind with town/tavern for people and instances for playing combat.

You probably won't run out of dungeons to run in a day with one character assuming you have elite.

I doubt it, more likely most people wont have people to run dungeons with because with all that content only static parties would really benefit from it.

LFG and IMs would take even longer.

Having a lot of content to run with a low population only hurts the time a player needs to find other people to run that content and even in high population games having a lot of content only leads to have like 90% of dead content because players always focus on those that are more profitable due to time/effort/reward.

What was the name of the level 58 ish dungeon north of acarum that everyone used the elite mobs at the start to powerlevel so much with? The mechs were fun in that one before it was face roll from new gear. With the argon predator charging into mobs. I can't recall the name sadly.

Also ascent of saravash was better when it had mechanics.

The solution to that is to have a solo instance option (just as we had in the past). You could also have bonuses for the featured dungeon of the week that would cycle through the dungeons (change the dungeons in the vanguard quest list).

The main problem I have with the game currently is running the same exact dungeon over and over again and killing the same exact bams over and over again. Having more content would help out with the boredom and probably help retain players. The content is technically there, it's just being managed poorly by BHS.

We also had occasional PvP tournaments hosted by EME community manager at the time, last 3s tourney was hosted in 2015, and last FWC was in 2013 or 2014, can't remember.

Doing events like Rootstock were actually worth doing because those buffs were huge back then.

VO was very crowded, even on CH you could find a lot of people dueling and trying to learn PvP.

too bad the community decided to ruin the fun for everyone in the last pvp tournament, ddosing the other team etc. You could see it in Tonka's eyes how frustrated he was with the whole deal

When 75% of your team suddenly goes offline during an important match XD

I was watching the stream at that time and it was kinda........

You're thinking of Suryati's Peak. Another cool dungeon that eventually became more known for powerleveling the rest of the way to level 60. Unlike Sigil Adstringo though at least Suryati sort've gets remembered as a version of him shows up in Dreadspire lowers alongside Saravash.

The dragon from that dungeon is the floor right after though.

This is a much cooler thread than I thought it would be from the title. TY to everyone sharing their memories.

I miss reputation quests/credits, and achievements counting toward laurel from leveling quests and special events. The day they took those away I dropped two ranks!

I often wished for an update to the reputation system to make it relevant again. BUT...
  • They probably think they are making content fresh by recycling it. All they are doing is removing your options for runs and things you do to progress. Thats probably one of the reasons they lose players. I almost quit when they deleted the last set of instances. I still may. The new ones are not nearly as fun. Having both would make level 65 the most fun level.

I brought this up a long time ago before the gear revamp and asked if they couldn't put feedstock or something in those shops to update them. I guess it's just too old of a system to be updated. :c
