I don't think they get as much money from transfers as you think.. the way i see it, every time you see someone win something from a lootbox, that's about $15 eme got... yeah, i'm thinking server transfers are not a huge portion of their income.
Merging servers is far more complex than you imagine it to be, it's a very expensive thing to do and has a HUGE potential for causing major problems. Free transfers isn't really an option either, because even transferring a single character goes wrong quite often, and what would they do once all active players leave a server? can't just shut it down or else all the inactive players who return will lose their characters. Sadly, the solution for this needs to come from BHS and that means it's going to take a long long time if it comes at all.

All we hear only excuses of why something happened and how its hard to return back and community such not pleased and aggressive. And all of excuses never have anything like eme themself in them. It's always something lead to this - bhs, update etc etc..
I do not believe this thing. Non for a second. I will never believe that all this crew white and fluffy 100% of cases and cruel circumstances led to this $hit situation with our game we have now.
Eme's excuses and reasons all the time sounds like a joke about bad dancer who always blames his ba/lls in his bad dancing.
Mainly the part which concerns me is the much faster gearing followed by a free server transfer from the event server. Effectively meaning each account gets a "free" fully geared character in addition to all the event rewards. As I said in my post, certain aspects of it could definitely work on NA but as a whole this event probably won't be great in our region. A temporary server with weird battleground rules and such is a nice idea, but a free geared character is really not.
Being able to gear quicker for a character or two isn't really horrible given how messed up Tera is economically anyways. Especially if you only got to transfer with gear and not gold+a ton of items.
What GF does still ends up reliant on BHS. GF has broken a lot of promises themselves and failed to deliver on others. Even some of their "extras" are delayed simply over discussing things with BHS. It's why NA still got some of the stuff EU got before. (Login event window and SCEM)
it's not literally "free" you still gotta play to get what you want.... if you read the details the leveling progression to 65 is slower than normal and the item exp gain is increased, but by how much? how much of a difference will it make? plus they'll still have to get all the gold and mats to enchant their gear. it's supposedly "faster" but we have no idea by how much and they still gotta play and grind for it, even if it's less than usual. using the word "free" here is hyperbolic, the only thing that's actually free is the 1 server transfer they get. which is very generous on EU Tera's part, kudos to them honestly.
Our team of Devs doing their job, @Halrath @seandynamite @Spacecats @Denommenator @Aryana, CS staff, But seriously, 4 GMs to run Tera and @Denommenator and @Spacecats have other assignments too. They are short-handed, obviously their budget is also cut off, obviously, EME's top management and BHS is not supporting these staff.
stop being rude to the very people that trying to keep Tera alive. They have been doing good, but how far can they go with EME/BHS policy and budget. They have to organize many things and look how many they are. this is madness, Thanks for doing a good job.
But EME manager, players are not happy, Tera feels abandoned and short we see that short of staff and how hard it is for them to maintain Tera, so please consider some improvements and extra budget for Tera online.
From my perspective, Tera EU started out pretty bad, but appear to be at least trying to turn things around. Of course, I realize BHS is sabotaging their own game to a certain extent, but I think EME could take some inspiration from the latest EU events. Most of us die-hard Tera fans want this game to be as successful (and fun) as possible.
idk i just think complaining about maintenance times is one the of the weakest and least important arguments you can make in this day and age. i mean sure you're definitely right that they should announce it beforehand but thinking they're gonna do that of all things when we're left in the dark about just about every other way more important thing is silly
