My computer makes weird squealing noise in character screen

I recently upgraded my computer and it makes weird noise from the power supply just in the character selection screen. Which is weird because I didn't replace my psu since it's a 750w. I got a GTX 1080ti FTW3 from EVGA and i7 7700K as cpu. I've saw on WoW forum with some people having the same problem on character screen and they said it was VSync issue? Tera doesn't have option to turn it off. If it doesn't hurt my computer, it's okay but I'm afraid it's hurting something because of unusually loud squealing noise is coming from it... Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

what do your cpu/gpu temperatures look like? I'm guessing it's as simple as a fan kicking into high speed, but could also be something more serious. Specifcally, you saying it's centered on the power supply makes me think it's getting old and components are struggling under high load.
  • Its the coils that make this noise on ur GPU. Its propably because ur getting enourmous amout of FPS while in character selection 200/300+.
Its nothing bad, some cards does this. My 970 did that in old games when generating craploads of fps. Sometimes its model issue, sometimes ur just unucky. Ring them and see if they accept warranty on it.
  • coil whine is a common thing its mostly from the gpu it self, mine does it as well as i also have a gtx 1080ti. some times just due to tiny coils that vibrate at a super high pitch its annoying but if not happening 24/7 then its fine.. only time id ever rma or whatever if its soo loud and constant beyond control.. many electronics do this as well my monitor power bricks do it when they are idle i have 2 chargers that do it as well. its usually due to "cheaper" used components in some areas. nothing to be concerned about. and if it is the psu. then its most likely its putting bit more out and making its coils vibrate now and then. but i dont think so since its based on character screen rather. if it was power supply it would squeal more all time in gaming then.
  • Alright guys thanks for the answers. As long as it doesn't hurt any part of my computer I'm fine with it. It only happens in the character menu screen so I guess I'll ignore it. Thank you!
