Anger Management Achievement - Is there something wrong with it?

Ok, so I have been trying to get this precise achievement for a LONG time and so with no success. Nearly 50 runs done at this point, trying different methods, and somehow I never get it. I'm pretty sure I avoided the Combo Drive and Smash many times before, or at least I thought I did, but I never got the achievement. There were even a couple runs where I can almost swear I avoided ALL of the bosses attacks. I have tried different tactics: trying dieing at the start of battle (without being hit or killed by that attack) and staying dead until the end, but it didn't work; also tryed mostly just staying back and focusing on not getting hit. But somehow, no matter what method I use or how many times I try I don't seem to be able to get that achievement.
So I was just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue with that precise achievement, or if anyone else has any other method or idea that I could try in order to get it. Honestly, I will be the one needing anger management soon enough if this keeps happening run after run. This shouldn't be such a hard achievement to get, and I have even seen people getting that achievement without even trying. So yeah...I'm pretty clueless at this point as to what else to try.

Thank you, but I have already seen that thread, I know the attack I need to avoid and I have tried the method sugested there, dieing at the start of battle, as I have mentioned. And I tried that more than once I must say. Nothing seems to work.

I suppose the clue is not even hitting the boss when u ress. just die, ress, and go back afk, far away.

    Maybe it'll work this way

I don't have this ach too. If it doesn't work this way, then i have no idea what are the exact steps that can achieve it

I can't really be too far if I'm alive or I risk getting hit by the large aoe that is part of the combo. The point of dieing is to stay dead the entire fight to make sure I don't get hit, and only res at the end. I have tryed dieing, let boss reset, then the party killed it with me dead the entire fight. I have also tried dieing and staying dead without reseting the boss. And I have also tried just being alive and focusing on avoiding the attacks. Fight always ends with me not getting the achievement for some reason. I contacted support and their only idea was for me to make a new thread here hopping someone would have a different idea as how to do it, as they said they couldn't do anything manualy. So if I'm dealing with some sort of bug here, it seems to be something they can't do anything about.
  • i see. i have no other idea how to ach it
  • This achievement is easy for healers/ranged dps, moderately challenging for tanks, and frustratingly hard for melee dps, assuming you're properly performing your role.

    The attack has 3 parts:
    1. Lehnym swipes at the tank three times, damaging anyone within melee range. If you have attack indicators on, you'll see a giant red donut indicating where the next attack will occur.
    2. Lehnym slaps the ground, causing a large donut explosion around him that damages everyone in the zone.
    3. Lehnym turns around swiping and stomping his foot, damaging anyone in melee range standing behind him.

The reason why this achievement is hard for melee dps is because of part 1, due to its weird range that hits people behind him as well as the tank. He performs the attack with little warning, so unless you're already out of range when he begins, most likely you've already gotten hit and lost the achievement.

As a healer/ranged dps, you only need to stand relatively far until you see the giant donut indictor, in which you move in for part 2, and iframe away before he does part 3.

As a tank, you only need to worry about part 1. Make sure you keep your block up whenever he finishes any action, as he might do this attack next unless he already performed it recently; this is trivial for brawlers since they have frontal block on all their skills anyway while in Growing Fury. Otherwise, once you block the three swipes, you're scot free since none of the other parts will hit you.

    Hope this helps.

Actually, believe it or not it did help. I had already tried standing back but I guess at some point I must have been a bit too close and one of those aoe attacks on step 1 might have hit me, even though I may not have noticed it. But after reading your post I also had the idea of doing some damage in between the combos, in case that happened to be a requirement. So this time I stood back most of the fight, but I went in to do some damage right after he finished the combo, or during the crystal placement phase. Then back away again. Maybe I did have to hit the boss from time to time, or do a certain damage to him for the achievement to count, and maybe that is the reason I didn't get the achievment the times i simply stood dead during the fight or when i only tried to avoid his attacks and did no damage.
Anyway, I did get the achievement with this method (and my champion laurel along with it), so thanks a lot for your help. Hopefully this will help others having the same problem as well.
