New DW+15 = 520k Metamorphics

I just made a new Deathwrack and raised it to +15. I did it mostly because I had a TON of relatively worthless metamorphic emblems. It took about 520k emblems (and almost no gold -- 20k for the liberation, which you only need if you want to sell it). At the end, I would have run out of emblems if I didn't one-shot 13-14 and 3x try 14-15. The +12 to +15 rate is a flat 6.5% with no failure bonus in case you're wondering. If I do it again in the future, I'd want 600~700k emblems available just to make sure I reached dw+15. Lower enchants are absolutely a waste of time -- worth less than the vendor value.

Minor value comparison: metamorphics vendor @ 2.8g for 12 or roughly 120k gold for my 520k. DW+15 sells for 300~600k on my server with an extremely variable demand -- might be instant, might not sell at all. So, I made sure I made one I'd be OK using if it didn't sell; my luck on frost is occasionally horrid. Spending 120k potential gold for storm+2 to use is a great deal. Selling it for 3~5x vendor value is a great deal. So, win-win unless it fails to reach +15.

I'm tossing this info out there in case others are in similar straights with metamorphics and wondering what to do with them; think of it as most of a bank page full of them.

  • The problem is getting the designs. If you didnt get them before the patch there is a good chance that some might not be in the broker forever >_>
  • I went ahead and made a weapon for my Elin gunner. You had way better luck than I did. I estimate it took me 700-800k emblems.

How do you even get so many? I thought that i had an excessive number when i reached 100k...

And thanks for the info since the emblems are more or less useless in terms of gold so this is an interesting option ^^

You get plenty from vanguards + dismantling any materials you don't deem necessary, i.e: Entrophy upgrade materials like archdevan formula (x200 emblems), otherwordly shard (x2000?) and carved ornament (x400) if you dont plan on getting the entrophy accesories.

Like 6R1MM01R3 said you can amass a lot of them through grinding/dismantling.

I have recipes for almost every weapon going back to gen/lucid. The last BP patch gave more than enough deathwrack/ambush recipes.

Don't Metamorphics only vender for 50% that price now that MWA sale has been nerfed? Pretty sure it's 1g 40s unless you're selling something else.
  • You're right -- just checked it. It's not 2.8g anymore. It's now 1.2g, which pretty much makes dw+15 the only viable use for metamorphics. That nerf might impact box sales, since they seem to be using metamorphics as the "booby prize". At least back pre-patch they would give semi-enigmatics and other mats that were actually valuable and could be sold.

Other than dw+15, there's zero use for the metamorphics even for newbies: by the time you've xp'd your gear enough to enchant, you've amassed so much matjunk you're unlikely to ever need to crack open either of the mat tokens.

Newbies mainly use them for artisan tools, copper clasp, pansophic ash, archdevan sufactant that are items that doesn't drop a lot.

Late to this but was this 500k tokens for a full set or just the weapon?
  • Only the weapon. It's roughly 230k to make the weapon (no RNG) and then heavy RNG to enchant it. The "500k" number is also a "lucky" enchant sequence. I won't try this again with less than about 700k.
  • Ouch that actually sounds pretty rough, but I guess if meta tokens don't have much of a use other wise.
