I wasn't disappointed then or now. I feel like the big holiday events are cash shop sales and maybe some decorations in game. if there are more, then great, if not , then oh well.
I know their hands are pretty much tied by bhs, but I think many of the players would have liked it if some of the eme staff would have came on in game and held little things like we used to have in ch server. for some people, the gaming world is their life, their friends and family, and they expect some sort of recognition or something from a game for their time and money. they want to feel like this world of theirs isn't as cold as the one that they are trying to escape from. to those people and others, I wish you a merry Christmas, and you are in my thoughts.
in the end, bhs/eme are companies trying to make money. it is a business and sometimes they may come off a little scroogey. so if you do have any friends irl, or in game, enjoy the time with them and have as much fun as you can. don't depend on anyone else to provide the fun or events for you. make it happen for yourselves and those will be the more memorable ones.
I do think they think Wintera is the Christmas event (and it's like their other games that also have a built-in holiday event by the developers). The problem with the open world mob spawns is that it's too prone to cheating now (both via known exploits and now also external tools); this is why the rewards on these have gotten progressively "worse" in people's minds. Maybe they've just given up on them now. I was hoping they'd turn on some other events like Double XP or something but it's not like that's particularly festive or anything.
You are not a whale is this game if you are only tier 9 on emporium after playing 5 years.
You are not even a regular player at all with that tier, I have meet people that they haven't spend money in the game and they are tier 10 on emporium.
To make it more interesting, if you are dedicated only to farm reward points, you can reach tier 10 in less than 300 hours played.
Not sure what do you tried to imply there but defenitly your are not the whale you think you are.
People are going to have different opinions of what a whale is, just like people will have their own ideas of what makes a game p2w. I personally agree with you at $1250 a year is on the higher end. The "whale" the other person may think of spends exponentially more, but there are much less of them. I also do know people who have reached t10 on pure grind, probably more rare than the people who hit the old EMP cap of $500 a day, but it has been done a few times.

Log to game and look how much population tera has now.i suggest you take a calming pill before - ITS DEAD, at any time maximum 30 ppl, empty as the desert! At least in terms of ch. And from those 30 only 15 not afking.
But yeah...wallet event and the color of form is very important.

Okay, so it's Saturday morning just past midnight PST -- past prime time for NA, and before most EU players login. On CH, there's about 60 people in Highwatch ch1, about 45 people in the Velika plaza, and that doesn't count other people in the open world or in dungeons/BGs (incl. Wintera). Most people are moving around or chatting. This is also the weekend before Christmas, and we're in the middle of a patch cycle.
FWIW, this (even at this random time of the night) is nowhere near how "dead" LoT and VoT were during prime time before their merger. (It was at least half as populated, during prime time.)
Besides, events aren't the answer to your problem, they're just a bandaid. In order for events to bring bored players back, they have to be considered "worth it" -- which means they have to be more generous than other forms of content in the game, or substantially different. And if we go back to the cycle we had before (where people basically stopped playing until OP events, played for a weekend, and then had enough mats to not have to play for 6-12 months) that doesn't solve the problem either.
I think they should have done something additional as well, but truthfully the thing you're complaining about is a lot bigger issue than whether or not there's some other Christmas event besides Wintera right now (which was the actual topic of this thread).
you logged to game in past midnight weekend in time before christmas when ppl are mostly free and think that 60+45+some in the other places isnt dead?? I say it again: this is what you see in the time that close to peak times of na (as we know ppl stay longer on weekends) and in holiday time when ppl are free! Srsly you dont get? And now divide it on 2 and you will see how normal is it.
not the one event attracting people to game. Atttitude of all this command and systematic failures are the problem. Everu picture contains many colors. And this is what you dont understand - every event and every move matters a lot. Its reputation of company that guys in eme loosing and loosing since beginninh.
p.s. Only MIDDLE of the patch and we have ~250 ppl on server in weekend in past peak time in holiday time....
p.ps with this all i appreciate that past week we got improvement on ccb and codes (btw many thanks for them!) and warnings for maintance. But i cant say i want xmas event really like i did a week ago or so. I dont want to be frustrated over ccb, pots and nocts after all.
not like last weekend where I had 72 buddy up codes used and aprox a quarter have already hit lvl 65
which was slightly better than the month before but similar (and a good amount of them are on CH
its all coz of the lack of these events
and midnite last nite was the last working day before Chrissy in the US what with office Chrissy partys and all like who wouldn't give that up to be in here or come in after partying
