'cause events have become commonplace enough this time of year for people to expect them? not to mention being baited by spacecats' hinting about santas by comparing them to mongos? people who don't celebrate christmas still enjoy events you friggin jobber...
don't try to defend your insanely pretentious, arrogant and condescending remark. people are allowed to complain, doesn't have to have some "super mega deep depressing reason" why, people complain because they aren't satisfied. full stop.
tf you on the tera forums if you have ""important matters"" to attend to, it's christmas dude if you celebrate at least give us the gift of not having to read your garbage one day out of the year
so no dissapointment and regrets for me since i knew than our tera suck, they just do what they have to do
You have smartphones.
Reading something is fast, not sure how many words you can read but an average person can read about 200 words per minute, and spending few minutes per day in the forums (reading and writing on the phone) is of not consecuence for me.
I still take my flight to visit family members that live 1,000 km far from where I actually live, then enjoy a meal with them and in the night go with them to visit old friends, then today help them to prepare a good meal and talk about things of the past and present, making jokes and laughting at many things.
Why should people will comply about the state of a game in these days where there are many other things to do?
I only can see that people see Tera as their lives, mind to get one in the real world at all?
but real world doesnt have cute elin
literally everything you just said means that people can still complain about this poorly run game and still have ""lives"", takes less than 5 minutes to write up a post and then get back to whatever else the hell you consider a "life", of course you can only see what you want you can't see people beyond the forums.......... wtf kinda point is that, pointing out that you can't think beyond yourself? "hey you post on these forums so that must be ALL YOU DO" like ????????
thanks for refuting your entire "argument" and pointing out your own arrogance and holier-than-thou behavior. not that anyone didn't already know that, but yanno.
Didn't you bite your thong when you said what you said in your last post?
Ups, of course not because you wrote it.
The question still stand, the one you even avoid it and you don't have to answer anyway because each time you make another post its clear that something really important is lacking in you and the very same people making hateful post over something small.
You pretty much ignored what I said in my first and second post in this thread but as you only like to talk [filtered] then you have to do things this way.
Vi gave an answer and she already told about her experience irl but she doesn't make use of hatred in her speech to adress about the lack of christmast event.
Allof pretty much resumed why some people will be disatisfied, sad, annoyed and other kind of feelings that find the lack of this event as something wrong from other people, but the only thing left is the hatred from some people in their words.
There is a huge diference between being discontented and criticize the issue than making hateful remarks about something, pretty much common in you.
It's out of curiosity why. I wonder what is their true motive and more and more became more obvious that you really enjoy to be this way. Because you could go with a post like allof or vi but you chose to being even more hateful.
Cornish even told me what my first post was in his eyes and even gave me an reasonable answer without making a big drama like you do, as always, when someone don't see things as you do, because you are not open to disscuss.
Cornish, Vi, Allof and others were open to disscuss, they shared their point with others why the bitter tone is not exagerated, they explained why and they even take the time to say "your post was offensive" without trying to be the "smart a ss" as other people like to be on forums.
I asure you that if most people would take stances like they did in this thread then these forums would be more about discussing about the issues at hand rather than attacking people because you don't like them.
I am pretty much satisfied with their posts, because they really tried to disscuss it and focused on the post rather than the person who wrote it, and I think is the best way to tell EME why not having the event is a bad idea, because they make it looks like people still enjoy the game, will take a chance to play it if there is free time even in these dates and because Tera is already an important part of the life for some of them.
I have to admit what Cornish and Allof said, each time I read my first post after they wrote their answers it really looks offensive but I won't modify it because I really like to read posts like theirs.
how people express themselves is not a direct correlation to the quality of their life. crazy thought, i know... people also don't have to justify themselves or explain their life stories to appease you, oh grand judgemental ElinUsagi user of the tera forums. like maybe people are expressing frustration cause the way the game is handled frustrates them... I Know That Sounds Crazy. but bear with me.
the rest of your post is comparative gibberish, but at least you explain the fact that if you don't like how someone expresses themselves or hurts your feelings then you'll instantly start judging their "life" which you can't possibly have any idea about. yikes didn't know we were all here trying to "satisfy" you with our posts
hopefully one day you'll learn to be content enough with yourself and your life that you won't be bothered about how people choose to express themselves, something which has nothing to do with you. merry christmas.
No. Not even slightly close at all. Implying they let themselves be manipulated by the people on the forum complaining that pushing a button on the bar was not a good enough solution, so they got some other solution in place with BHS before Christmas -- even though, honestly, it wasn't going to break anything the way it was (it was just mildly annoying and mostly pointless). They did this almost-entirely so that the forum would get a "win" in the "our feedback was listened to" column. Not that this bought them any goodwill, because the forum just moved right on to the next thing wrong with TERA (in this case, the lack of a open-world hunt event that most people already know is trivially exploited now). There will always be another fight, because people are just this passionate about the game despite its endless list of flaws. (And in fairness, it's been like this since launch -- people have always complained bitterly about this game's wasted potential at every single step of the way.)
Even here, you turned a case where the forum feedback was actually listened to into:
At some point you just say "screw these guys, I'm going home." The problems will still be here, in abundance, tomorrow.
they do read our forums , but they tell us its up to bhs, or it cant be done, or they will look into it, or soon. many times I feel like we are the cows to be milked, but I have to remind myself that they are a business, and they are in the business to make money. we make the mistake in thinking that the customer is always right, and that we are special to these companies. I keep telling people if you are not happy with a company of any kind, let your purse or wallet do the talking. people talk a good game, but all they have to do is bring out a new costume or mount and people are breaking the sound barrier swiping their credit card so fast. as long as people spend money then the companies know they can keep on keeping on. when enough people stop spending money, that's when the companies will listen and do something.
And the core issues causing this building feeling of resentment are so far deeper than any stupid (already long-abandoned) shop, or a slipped date on a roadmap (at least it's in the plans at all now after 2+ years), or a trivial (already broken) hunt event, or having to click a CCB button on the bar (which was at worse no different than what we had six weeks prior). These are just minor, trivial, largely-inconsequential manifestations of people's greater frustration that the game is never going to live up to its potential and that they feel EME isn't trying hard enough. What does anyone really think the current team of one (1) recently-hired product manager will be able to do to truly solve all the deep-seated issues? So instead we focus on the most surface-level of stuff... but it's not really going to fix the true problems anyway, if we're being honest to ourselves. It's not like they don't know that too.
My point has always been: this thread was never really about Christmas for the most part, and you've coalesced what it's really about: people venting their deep-seated resentment about the state of TERA. I'll keep pushing for any small win we can get, but once a relationship progresses from the "resentment" stage into contempt, divorce is inevitable.
I am going to quote this one and agree.
I mainly do because i have already seen another game that was similar and had the same fate ( was milked? is this the right word? milked? so it was milked? until it went dry then the rights were sold to a smaller company that renamed the game and made a server merge to hopefully get the money invested back plus some profit but that did not really work since the pay to win events were even more abundant than before and the fewer players that were still left there decided to leave for good ).
You know what? I understand very well that Tera PC is a business and above anything else it has to make profit to receive investments but when you are going to minimize the resources invested as much as possible while trying to make as much profit -again- as possible then is that fair to the players that are investing both their time and sometimes their money? And is your business really healthy like this? Besides, are you really a fair company trying to make some cash while being cool? And using excuses to cover up the will to invest and improve while demanding so much from the game and buying time is the nicest thing to do?
In game.. there are very simple steps that can be taken and could mean so much for the players like the vanguard shop for example or the improvement of the elite status plus other things like fixing the loot from dungeons ( especially the HM ones ).. and maybe some decent events that could improve the gameplay and make the player base more happy.. but these do not happen so why not? they are going to hurt the business model? players that have it easier in game are less inclined to spend so better make it as harsh as possible.. especially since content players can use up the game without investing real money so it can mean more expenses for nothing? though if they are content with the game then are they not more inclined to spend? i am confused as of why Tera ended up in a such a sorry state when it still has a lot of potential left ..
And why aim for the big whales while trying to minimize the resources invested and work with a small population when the low/med spenders bring much more profit? I mean, i was reading a lot about other games and especially this desert one and the charts were showing the same thing all over: the low/med spenders brough at least 70% of the profit ( no wonder why gameforge aimed for those with the Tera on EU and no wonder why the EMP sales spiked in the last six months ).
p.s. someone said in a book that goverments will disappear in the future because the corporations will take over and rule at global level so it will be interesting times to live in..
so this is the reason why people wont quit spending money in the game and continues to let things go without doing anything about it? so lets say coke changes the recipe and the customers don't like the new taste and hate it, but they stop buying it in protest to force coca cola to go back to its recipe before, do you think that coke would just close down or change their recipe back? what would make them lose more money in the long run, going back to something that works or just doing away with coke and focusing on their other products? I know what coke did.
Edit: Fixed quote.
