Just heard rumors in global chat that in a year's time, the game will no longer exist.

Has anyone else heard this sort of thing too?

EDIT - TERA isn't going anywhere. Please don't believe everything you read in Global chat. :expressionless:

    I doubt. Nexon just bought the rights of Tera and if I'm not mistaken, they are a bigger game publisher than bhs. They wouldn't assume the risk of buying a dead game.

    Global is as a reliable source of information as Gawker, Jezebel, or Polygon is kiddo. TERA is very much alive, it's just players come around in random growth spurts.

    okay but seriously, look at it from a logical standpoint. would bhs be pushing out a new class and releasing new content if this game would be dead in a year? unlikely. even if they were money grabbing it still would lose them more than they'd get.

    BHS still makes tera
    Korean Nexon manages Ktera game servers
    Gameforge Still does EU Tera
    and EmE does NA Tera

    Really all and all nothing changed...BHS just wanted to focus more on developing games then managing them

    What Pauli said. BHS is a developer, the rest are publishers. Keep in mind that we have some more publishers worldwide (China, Russia, SEA) and even if Nexon would fail in publishing, a new publisher would take over. You're not goning to stomp the whole game because one single publisher is messing up.

    I doubt it. Every time there's a new patch, everyone comes out to say the end is nigh, but they keep playing anyways. And I've heard surprisingly little moaning after the ninja patch.

    They are currently working on PS4 and Xbox 1 ports of Tera (and with that will come better performance for PC), so no not really. Also BHS and Enmasse don't have any other games so it's not like they even have a choice in the matter. Tera or bust.

    Oh and as an indicator of just how popular Tera is, this game runs in separate entities in EU, NA (this verison), Russia, Japan, Korea and China.

    People were saying the game would be dead in a year 3 years ago. It's still here. Come to your own conclusions.
