Suggestion for New Character Creation Window

This is obviously very minor stuff, but TERA always does not help new players with correct info. This is one of those incorrect info in game.

In New character creation window, when you choose Race and Class, there is a short tip for "difficulty" and "key skills".
Well, like I said, this is kinda minor issue and I am pretty sure that most people (even new) do not take a look at them, and do not consider them seriously when they choose race and class. However, TERA still needs to give correct info, and obviously, some info in this page is wrong.

In this point, the "key skills" in character creation window are very weird. It does not seem for either PVE or PVP. It seems like random picks.

Here are the list of "key skills" for every class

# Mystic
5c585886ce.jpg
Thrall of Life
Aura of the Merciless
Curse of Confusion

Crit Aura is definitely a key skill for mystic. But why Life Thrall and Confusion? If it's for PVE, it should be;
- Volley of Curse (with glyph)
- One of healing skills
- Contagion

Well, if it is for PVP, Life Thrall, Crit Aura, and Confusion make sense. However, the whole list does not seem only for PVP. Let's take a look other class's key skills.

# Warrior
c6fa0622ac.jpg
Charging Slash
Combative Strike
Rising Fury

Hmm..where are Deadly Gamble and Scythe?? Why is rising fury more important than those skills? Even if in PVP, there are more important skills like backstab.

# Reaper
03abf44dcb.jpg
Sundering Strike
Shadow burst
Soul Reversal

Well, apparently it is missing Grim Strike and Shadow Reaping which are more important.

# Lancer

Shield Barrage
Spring Attack
Leash

Where are Debilitate which is a must, and Adrenaline Rush, Guardian Shout, or Wallop?

# Gunner

43d4227bd9.jpg
Well, gunner's key skill makes more sense than other class even if some people will say Replenish is more important than Scatter Shot.

# Slayer

60dc1e63a2.jpg
Slayer's key skills also somewhat make sense.

# Brawler

91f446fd7c.jpg
It obviously misses Growing Fury which is much more important in PVE, and Roundhouse kick which is a lot more important in both PVE and PVP.

# Berserker

fe2d7212c6.jpg
Berserker's key skills look fine.

# Ninja
362fbe20d5.jpg
Obviously missing Burning Heart, Double Cut which are a lot more important.

# Sorcerer

Sorcerer's key skills make sense. But some class's key skills are iframe skills like Ninja's Thousand cut. In this point of view, it is missing Warp Barrier.

# Valkyrie
bc0548c414.jpg
Hmm.. Leaping Strike is also important since Valkyrie needs to use it in order to chain other skills. However, as we all know, Ragnalok is all about Valkyrie's dps.

# Archer

Where are Radiant Arrow and Thunderbolt?

# Priest

Focus Heal and Self Res...Why? It would be better if it says Kaia shield, Triple Nemesis, or Healer Immerse instead.

Again, this is very minor issue and people who read forum posts already know which skills are important for their classes. However, let's consider new players. Do not expect them to read all guide and then start play. Lots of new players just start playing this game with their curiosity. And the first information that they receive is from GAME itself, not from guides in google or forum.

Most of the classes's key skills do not seem important. They are not for either PVP or PVE. They really seem like random pick by someone in BHS or EME.

@Spacecats @Halrath I do not think BHS or EME will fix this in a near future since you probably consider this issue as a minor one. However, like most of my suggestions, please think deeply about how to make new players to settle down in TERA.

- Give them correct info
- Make some good in-game tutorial and guide such as "What crystal works for your role in pve and pvp"
- Give a motivation to new players

Unless BHS and EME already confirmed that TERA is dying and gave up, and decided to collect as much money as they can from current players, I wish they will do something for NEW PLAYERS. Please pay a minimum attention on some stuff for new players while paying huge attention on Store stuff.

  • This post is irrelevant. You want the creation window to show a bunch of level cap skills for new players to choose from?

It is relevant and it really helps new players to know what skills are their best choice in a given class and when they will get them.
  • I think the idea of these skills is not to tell players which skills are important/which ones to use, but to give players an idea of what the class does overall. It kinda makes sense when you look at it that way (e.g. mystic heals and debuffs)

I also do not understand the purpose of telling key skills, and what those skills are for. Current key skills really seem like just random picks.

With a patch that came several months ago, Recently, there was a patch for low levels, and now most of the skills can be learned earlier than they used to be (it was when all players were forced to spend gold to re-learn some skills). So players no longer need to hit Max Lv in order to get the skills that are mostly important for their class.

Apparently this part includes the right answer.
