Quick info & clarification about "Guardian Missions" that people are confused
Very unfortunately, we are often suffered by false information from our patch note. Checking KTERA patch note is one of the ways to solve this problem. But anyway, here is some information about guardian missions that the patch note did not say or that people are confused.
1) How to get the story quest??
- In order to use the credit merchants located in velika (near the headquaters), you have to complete the prerequisite quest which is "Echoes" story quest. You can accept this story quest in highwatch as soon as you hit Lv 65.
TL;DR : Do Echoes quest and take guardian mission quest.
2) How can I get to the mission zone??
- Open the map (default key "M") and you can see the white shield emblem with wings at the top left. It is grey-colored as default, but if you click it, it becomes white. And then, you will see three of same emblems on the maps. Those are the zones for guardian missions.
- If you click the emblem on the map (in a certain area, not the top left), you will be able to teleport to the zone for free.
TL;DR : Click the shield emblem on the map for FREE TELEPORT.
3) Does the aggro affect the contribution (Gurdian points)?
- This is very confusing thing. According to KTERA patch note, NO. Tanks and healers get more points due to their naturally low dps compared to real dps classes.
- However, some people say heal and aggro gives the points. So I did a test.
- On lancer, I joined a mission channel, and just used Challenging shout which pulls aggro from monsters. And I did not do any single damage, just kept shouting.
- After the mission ended, I got 0 guardian points.
- Therefore, AGGRO DOES NOT GIVE ANY POINT.
4) Does the heal & rez (healer's natural job) affect the guardian points?
- This is also a confusing thing.
- According to KTERA patch note, NO.
- But EU patch note said you can earn points from the amount of damage healed. So YES.
- NA patch note does not say anything about it. So IDK.
- Anyway, I did a test for this too.
I made a party with a brawler and a priest. The brawler was dps'ing as normally, and priest was just waiting until the brawler's HP went down to 30%. And then, the priest used healing skills (Focus heal, Healing immerse, Healing circle, Regeneration Circle, REstorative Burst, Kaia shield with glyph). And then kept repeating this.
The priest did not get any points from those healing skills. Also, same for the resurrection as well as mystic's heal and res.
TL;DR : Guardian points are ALL ABOUT DPS.

just to add
I have a few lvl 65's on a few servers and not all have done "Echoes" and yes its needed to continue the story quesr line !
but that doesn't mean you cant click the emblem on the map (in a certain area, not the top left)and be to teleport to the zone or just enter the zone and participate and earn guardian points
I did and with a lvl 65 that not only hadn't done Echoes it also wasn't yet equipped with the guardian (or higher) gear set just with all the gear that you have at reaching lvl 65
and on the server this character is on its the only lvl 65 one , so I didn't try on a server where I had other lvl 65s and some that had done Echoe
EDIT:- but you will need the quest line to have access to the guardian shop to use the guardian points you aquire
