Yet another problem in game

I don't know what the deal is, ever since ninja patch random [filtered] has just been going wrong for no reason.

This time, it's sabex armory. Every time i try to enter, i get the good old insufficient memory bs error, and after just trying to walk/tele in, that character is now stuck. Tried with an alt just to be sure it's that area, and now when i try to log onto either of those toons, the loading screen comes, and stays at 0% until crash.

I did the other usual stuff, client repairs and such. Can someone help?

This wasn't an issue a few days ago when i helped a guildie run it several times. Haven't tested with any other alts/dungeons yet. Seems like since ninja patch, it's something different every week now

#FIXED

  • I am in the process of trying to copy/paste folder to another location as recommended for one of the fixes, but i've run into an odd problem. There is a file that cannot be read from the sorce file or disk

RNW_ArcDevaArmory_SD.gmp (sounds like sabex to me, maybe this is part of the problem?)

    Size 568 KB/ Date modiffied: 2/23/2016

Can anyone tell me the location of this file/how i might replace it? as i've said, i already tried the repair function

For starters, you could stop playing this game on a potato...
If you actually get insufficient memory in a game, 2 things happened. You are either playing on a useless potato that should NOT be playing this game, or your hardware is messing up which means it's probably time to replace the piece that's messing with you.
  • thank you very much, i was already looking for it, but windows search kinda sucks lol. so if it is indeed the problem, and i delete it, will the client auto detect and redownload it?

@Juude i've been playing tera for years....other games work fine, i run diags often....so for starters, you should know Tera is notorious for having random weirdo problems...

and just for clarification, 8 gigs (WORKING) ram, phenom ii x4 @ 3.65ghz with hd radeon 6670....getting old by todays standards but very capable of running tera

Furthermore if you bothered to read, you would see the problem is just with sabex armory...been doing dgs all day and this didn't happen until sabex....Anyways, a gm must have read over this and seen that i had toons stuck in there and ported them out, so thank you to the gm that did so.

You're funny, ignoring or oblivious to the fact that TERA does have a memory leak.

Oh please, half of you don't even know what a memory leak is. If this game truly had memory leaks, you'd would experience far more than simple FPS drops, your entire system should slow down and most likely crash. Memory leaks are due to poor programming, and with memory leaks, there's also an 70% to 80% the rest of your system will bog down and be unresponsive or outright crash.

You either have bad drivers, didn't place your components properly or your settings are misconfigured.

In the event of a memory leak, the rogue application will steal all your RAM giving none to the OS or the other services running, combine that with the paging file size and your system is very likely to derp.

You would notice a lot more than just a few drops in FPS.
  • Alright, I removed that specific file, and tried again, and it immediately crashed after instead of getting stuck at 0% with the memory leak crash, so i knew that had to be the problem, and once again ran the fix tool, and it downloaded/replaced the file and now is working again without problems. So thanks to @Nayroy for telling me the location.

@Juude ....looks like my potato isn't too ripe yet..

First, why so dam rude? second, Tera is poorly optimized and programmed. There are memory leaks and just bad redundant procedure calls. Yes I know what a memory leak is. I played on an i7 2nd gen 8gb mem, 1gb nvidia 525m and 1tb drive with custom confige on tera and gpu and the game still had issues.

Tera does use quite abit of ram, Just hanging in velika alone skyrockets to 6GB aside from the 3 gigs it uses. It could be cz of all em shadows enabled lol

but yeah Any trash PC can run tera as long as the memory keeps up. The coding for tera was properly composed on a 90's PC which makes sense cus tera is ancient lol (2009)

I've also noticed that tera does horribly with new PC hardware by that i mean with CPU's like skylake and haswell.

The more current the Hardware is the worse your game experience will become. Tera needs to keep up with the times.

Your theory is invalid. Newer hardware runs tera much better than older. As stated above I had that and played tera with it from beta until just a month ago. Replaced it with a new msi i5 6th gen, 8gb mem, 2gb nividia 940mx, 1tb drive. After custom config I have tera running most on the gpu and not cpu. You folks tera like to use your cpu more than gpu. The difference is I have a steady 40 plus fps with 68 ping now instead of a 20 fps max. New machine has settings on high except shadow (low) titles (off) 20 chars max. Old unit was all setting at 2 with show off to.
  • I too had the same problem.
Then i upgraded off the potato to a standard $1000 pc build.
