I'm usually a mouse only player and as such I have never used the wasd keys for movement. Since I will suck at moving around i do not really think melee combat will work. I also despise archers for no reason. So what would your recommendations for a class and why for a new to the game and not knowing anyone who plays?

    Based on this statement alone, I'll just suggest you find another game instead, cuz this game is movement heavy while having no other way to move without using WASD, other than using skills which have cooldowns.

    Either provide your motivations for wanting to play TERA and/or your history of games played to even motivate me to suggest a class for you. Have a good day.

    hmmm. useful. very useful. lets see. I want to play because I can. history of games i've played. hmmm.. lets see I think it started with bartlet survival in I'm thinking between grade 4 to 6. Kinda hard to remember that far back. I do remember it was on one of those 5 or so inch floppy disc's. Other useful things that might be I just shoveled my driveway and I had chili for lunch.

    I'm sorry, but since you didn't provide anything "useful" about your gaming preferences other than "because I can" and a bunch of irrelevant information, it's not possible to give any suggestions. Maybe learn to help others help you?
    Otherwise, I'll just stick to my initial response. Or you could, you know, try all the classes out yourself and save everybody's time. Thanks and have a nice day.

    The very first thing you learn with your new character is how to move using the WASD keys. It isn't all that hard to get used to.

    you could always get a 360 controller and not have to use the keyboard for movement. its what I have been using for years with tera and I love it. many will say it isn't any good, but once you set up your keys to the controller then you are good.
    also as for class I would try them all out to see what you would like. you get 3 character slots on one server. choose 3 different ones and level them up and if by level 39 you don't like them, then delete them and choose another three. if you level one to level 40, then it takes 24 hours to delete it. if you find that you are kinda liking one, then level it to 40 and that way, you can choose a reaper. you have to have one character level 40 or above to be able to create a reaper class.
    I first used a slayer and didn't like it. I don't like priest, lancer, or beserker. I mained an archer for years and I still have that one, then I played the flavor of the months when they came out, but after the whole removal of campfires and our free potions and charms, I rolled mystic and haven't looked back. you can do decent damage and heal yourself and others. I liked ninja for the speed, and I still have one I play when I want a challenge.

    Everything is heavily movement based, not just melee. Ranged and healers are expected to be totally mobile during dungeons/combat. Think "Dark Souls" but an mmo (but not as precise, although there are tons of one shot mechanics.)

    Use a controller. Plenty of people use a controller and clear the highest content with ease. If you can't do that, or won't learn to use WASD then I suggest another game. Tera is not a tab target game where you can play with only one hand. Good luck.
