how to check my ping?

So i'm still downloading the game and i'm wondering how do i check my ping? Does this have to be done ingame or is there another way to do it before i can even fire up the game? oh yes. how the heck do i change my forum name too? All i can see how to change my avatar.

    Ingame you hover your mouse over the FPS/Time counter if you have it displayed.

    Outside you can do a tracert/ping to 208.67.49.180. I believe that's the server IP? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
