Liberation scrolls for cosmetics

  • There is also the fact that many times so far we had costumes that disappeared and were brought back with some sort of discount so i guess that there is a reason as of why they disappear and they are hard to get.

And i could agree to liberate costumes as long as you can use them only once and you can use them only on alts. If you are willing to sell them then that by no means helps the economy.
  • Ive race changed alot..
I have dyeable Arin and Dyeable Rida maid costumes, that I'd like to get rid of.
  • I believe that having a scroll that could unbind your cosmetics while leaving them as untradable, unsellable, unable to store in the guild bank would be a great thing to have.

That would make some extra money for En Masse while (finally) satisfying the comunity.
  • It would be nice to just allow players to unbind their cosmetics "just once" without any need of an item and of course, make the items untradeable. I don't think that would make the devs and publishers to lose any money since you wouldnt be reselling the cosmetics or unbinding them repeatedly, being limited to only one unbind would help a lot when having exclusive limited time cosmetics or some bound to an inactive character in the account.

If they offered this sort of scroll, I don't think they would allow the cosmetics to be tradeable, since the market for seasonal cosmetics is based on supply being constrained. If anyone can unbind their seasonal cosmetics at any time, it reduces the incentive for people to "invest" in them (since demand for seasonal items would otherwise go down when they're out of season). It would put the "used" market in competition with EME when they re-introduce them to the game the following year, and reduce the amount people would buy.

To have this sort of thing but only allow you to trade between alts would, I think, still be an okay idea.

Personally I'd be fine if they had a scroll to liberate fashions so I could put them on my atls instead of the characters they are on now lol. I'd buy so many of those things.
  • Theres so much stuff id love to take off my characters. especially the things that you cant buy from the shop :s .En masse can this happen pleaseee? @seandynamite @CobaltDragon

I support the idea, i have some cosmetics on alts that i no longer use. But EME should explore on the option that upon liberation of the cosmetic, it should return to the form of a smartbox. It is a possibility.

BNS has something like this in the form of coupons. It turned out extremely successful. I just want my two hello kitty costumes on alts I never play on my main. I'm willing to drop low 100 bucks right now to do it.

In order to make this work, EME and BHS has to see this as profitable. Im sure that in their eyes, Buying new cosmetics for your new alt is more profitable than allowing players to buy a coupon to unbind the costume to give it to alts, after all, ahem... evil loot boxes.

Plus im sure that if EME agrees with us, they still need to send the request to BHS to create a new item that can allow this. I am afraid this is gonna take a while before EME even replies to this thread and even longer before BHS decides to create such item.

I would say pretty much this.
I have some cosmetics on some of my characters that are literally useless now, some that belong to characters who no longer exist whatsoever. So being able to unbind them to sell/swap to another character would be awesome, but unfortunately unlikely. I could imagine they might do this as an event item at some point in the far future, but as a long-term item it would have to out-weigh the profits that lootboxes make which is insanely unrealistic.

I don't understand why people say is not profitable. I have several costumes that have not see cash shop for more than 2 years already and the only way they have been in-game was on events (only Hello Kitty being once time and only in cash shop).

I really would love to buy it from another player but right now there is no one at MT or TR selling them and probably there are no more copies of them at all.

I don't think the developer will ever put those in the game, since for a f2p game you want players to spend more in micro-transactions no matter what. I think over Korea players can't even get their costumes race changed if they change race.

Wait a second, do you mean that if for example i change my Human Male Zerk to Castanic Male , will my costumes be available for castanic?

Nope. Up until recently you could swap costumes for one race for those of another if you race changed, but that was changed. The new stance is either bank or throw out your old costumes and buy new ones instead any time you decide to race change.

It's not a matter of the scroll being profitable, but that it wouldn't be as profitable as re-selling the costumes is the issue. Like you said, some costumes haven't been sold in a long time, so many people want them because there's no in-game supply. But while there's likely plenty of profit to be had from people buying scrolls, there's more profit to be had from forcing people to re-buy the costumes or better yet, gamble for them.
