  • Just for Retaliate and, on archer, Final Salvo cancel. Technically not spacebar but shift, but you know.

    I used TWO spacebars.

    Get on my level.
  • Full disclosure... I spacebar reapers pretty hard. BUT they're mostly just farming alts. I never claimed or even tried to be good at reaper.

I personally do not advice using the spacebar for anything but jumping. First off should you need to jump, you would have to wait for that skill to come of que before you can jump, second using the spacebar does not give you the proper practice you need to know your skills rotations and what they do and which to use next if something is on cool down. I never use spacebar for anything but jump. Even for casual gamers, it is better to learn and know your rotations. It's a lot of hard work but at a pinch, it pays off when you need that knowledge most.

My only spacebar skill is retaliate xD
With the exception the new Blessing of Balder chained after Shakan

Now that is a beautiful keyboard, For that set up, I could see using one of the spacebars for a pinch quick need especially for a priest or mystic to do a quick evade. If only I had a keyboard like that.

Whelp I play zerk, I don't even know how you'd play zerk with spacebar. (other than retaliate)

on a similar note, does gunner still have the hardcoded chains that you cant remove? I always remember getting so annoyed on gunner after using a skill and trying to jump somewhere and using the chain skill instead. I dont mind chain combos that you can remove/edit, but hardcoded chain skills are terrible idea.

that being said, when i am just Island of Dawn Bamming or messing around, I will just jam the spacebar on Reaper, my dps doesnt matter there and it is easier to watch TV(and less boring) and just smash the spacebar.

On Ninja, I wouldnt use the auto-chain skills.

On Slayer, the chain skills are not bad. I think of all the classes, Slayer auto-chains are the most decent. I dont think I even have overhand strike on her hotbar since it is terribly slow if not chained into. I just use the auto-chain key for it and a couple other skills that I would never use without chaining into.

nothing is more embarrassing than jumping when trying to use a skill and getting knocked down.

I wish you could put retaliate separate from other stuff. I either have to move my jump to another key and forget where retaliate is, or I have to wait out skills before i can jump. I guess I could put retailate on a hotkey, but i think it still defaults to your jump key

ngl i spacebar on my slayer alt pretty hard, otherwise half the time ms gets hardcasted 'cause of my slow hands. unlike some other classes, like reaper where spacebar spamming causes you to miss out on your proper powerlinked rotation, slayer is pretty spacebar friendly (for ez pve) just have to watch your evis and ms cds to make sure you always get powerlink before ms-ing.

people who don't bind jump to another key though are great, it's always funny to see someone jump and get kd'ed in the middle of a fight. though, to be fair, i didn't learn to bind jump to another key until i started running MCNM/HM. parasites man....

I play some classes manual, some classes with some chaining. Though I try to learn where are most of my skills in case a chain is interrupted or if I need a specific skill. Some skills activate faster by chaining. Some skills have glyphs that empower others if you chain them. Now, skill chaining doesn't need to be done through spacebar. You can go full manual and still benefit from glyphs and skill speed ups so long as you do those skills in order.

On my ninja, I manual chain stun first, then jagged path, decoy jutsu, double cut, skyfall, circle of steel. Here's the reason of this chain.

Stun works well on IoD bosses though it's not used on dungeon bosses because of stun immunity. After stun, jagged path increases damage of everything for 3 seconds.
decoy jutsu sets you up behind the enemy.
double cut increases damage of skyfall (by a whooping 30%)
skyfall increases damage of circle of steel (by 30% as well!)

Note that all of these are possible through glyphs.

The rest of the ninja skills, save breath and avalanche, only lower your dps anyway. From there I use 3 or so normal attacks to reduce cooldowns (why didn't they add this gimnick to all classes?) to then go for stun again. As I said before, this works like a charm on IoD bams, which is the activity I've found myself doing the most lately.

It is also common knowledge that you have to separate the chain and jump keys. I'm using a Steam controller and set jump to trackpad press. The same tracpad I use for camera movement. It works surprisingly well, and I can keep chain to X should I need it.

Another thing. For those who don't know or haven't bothered checking, there's a chained skills button on your skills menu. The chained skills window lets you add or remove skills from spacebar chains. Sadly, not all of them can be chained, and classes with inherent chains give no opportunity to remove those. Still, even people who go on manual rotations can benefit from this.

I use space bar on warrior for retaliate and vortex slash.

Hear me out tho, guise. You cant get knocked down while using vortex slash, and even if you DO lag jump you still cast vortex slash and you get free movement if you hold down a directional key while casting.
  • space bar is limiting, it's better to use the skills that are needed in the moment using the numbers...

What I want to know, if anyone can tell me, is - does the "increases MP replenishment by 66% on hitting combo" stat work only if you use the spacebar or if you use the chained skills using the individual keys? cause I never use the spacebar and it would be a shame if I was missing on that MP replenishment...

I don't think you'd need spacebar specifically. Though if you could say what skill and glyph is that for? Maybe I can give a more secure answer. Though by your user pic and name, you may be referring to gunner?
  • TLDR

Spacebar for Brawler and ninja results in negative damage.
Meanwhile spacebar ninja doing 50k deeps, then take a look at the other ninja tearing it up with no spacebar.
  • my first character is a gunner when i started on the last week of may 2016 cause i love big guns and i was a ranger in PSO2 ^_^ wish i have a vista to play a pso game there also... it has even a more bigger gun for rangers lolz
