Change back PvP servers

TERA, I have but 1 question, why the hell did you make the PvP servers into PVE servers, I didn't come on the PvP servers to NOT kill other players until I get lvl 65 that stupid, if I wanted that I would have made on a PvE server instead. We all came on the PvP servers to KILL other players not to wait till max lvl to then be able to kill other players who also have to be lvl 65....if I wanted that [filtered] I would arena challenge them. If you think it's "not fair" to the low-lvl people who play on the PvP server well reduce the level to 30 or 25....the MAIN reason we are on the PVP server is to PVP, not arena but raw PvP. I'm sure i'm not the only player that is upset about this change so please......change it back or reduce the stupid [filtered] lvl requirements (which is lvl 65) to lvl 30 or 25.
Thank you.

In KTERA, all servers are PVP and they are set up the way our PVP servers are (read: 65 only).

Originally, NA separated servers into PVP and PVE, allowing players on PVP servers to start at level 11 (as opposed to level 60 at the time for KR). This has since been changed and now our PVP servers are the same as KR's PVP servers--65 only. There is pretty much 0% chance they will ever revert this change.

I wouldn't be surprised if someday, when there is only 1 server, that it is a 65PVP server like the servers in KR are.

All non NA and EU servers are PVP65. The biggest reason is that KTera moved outlaw declaration to level 65 to combat griefers which were rife in that particular server.

Due to builds mismatching servers in the past, NA needed many more weeks of configuration on every build that is released. Thus, it would make more sense and cost efficient to just make all PvP servers what they are in other servers. PvE server is still PvE because of reasons.

The only way PvP can be returned to its original state is if EME has enough people in general to code stuff for this particular server every time there is a new release (the issue isn't really with the code itself, but the dependencies that follow since changing one code may break another)
  • And what purpose would this serve?

The open world in tera doesn't matter anymore. Having open world pvp is pointless if you never have people wandering/questing/whatever in the open world.

Unless the only thing you want to do is oneshot low levels. Which in that case....tough. Even if there was a resounding desire to do it, the chances of it actually happening are nil.

That's what made Tera unique for me when I first started playing. Leveling up and watching my back for PK. Eventually, I took part in Pking while leveling alts and it was the best!

I will have to agree that even tho I did like partially the old system of being able to PVP while leveling, this becomes entirely moot when all you do is spam Kumas and dungeon queues, while doing some random BAM meanwhile queue doesn't pop in some remote area that nobody is doing anything anyway.

The leveling progression made leveling PVP useless, and yes, grievers just wanting to one shot leveling players cause "hohoho look how powerful I am, I decide who can level and who cannot" deserve to get screwed anyway, they contribute to absolutely nothing ever.

I get it that you (hopefully I'm right and you're not a useless griever) wanted to do some old school leveling and battle for a BAM or farming spot against randoms out there, or just hunt down players while leveling every now and then for some brawl cause why not. BUT, sadly, we ain't even crossing Lumbertown bridge anymore. There isn't more than like 10 levels of PVP you could do + the Lv 60-65 if that even. The open world is barren, it's too big for the player count on it, too underused for even leveling (since it all became a BG/dungeon zerg), people would be able to do all this leveling PVP for... one day. That one day they spent on Lv 10-20~25, or actually, the few hours they did.

Countering grievers is actually very easy, since there was that thingy that was more or less a penalty for killing people 5 levels lower for too long, it should be easy to code it to lock level gap entirely as well, not being able to even hit lower levels, or if the programmers had the will to do it (they don't) you could even adjusts stats to keep equalizing, while still leaving the higher level/geared player have the upper hand for an increasing challenge on PVP while giving the chance to the lower one, no one shot crap anymore.
This last paragraph tho, is sadly just the "what if", since the biggest thing is that they just won't bother with changing stuff from K-TERA, nor is there any big enough benefit anymore with current leveling.
  • I’m usually screaming the same sentiments but honestly as @ElinLove said the OW is barren. Even while leveling and I took it as slow as possible for laurel. Out of the 3 or so months I may have only ran into two other players lvling. OW PvP is pretty much a thing of the past with tera hence the killing of GVGs Alliance etc.
  • Well ofc OW is barren, that's what happens when u take away the FUN in the game. I get it they are some ppl who hunt low-lvls for fun but when I first started playing running and hiding from them was part of the fun, Plus having to fight other players at random times helped you to hone ur skills, to be able to see what works and what doesn't work, to become better at PvP. I get it, the game isn't as popular as it once was but why take away the thing that was keeping the people that was still here.

best statement ive read in ages and to the point
id like to see PvP OW but like a few lvl's each side of you as you progress unless you enter a free for all arena so some lvl 65 in top gear cant sit on a porthole ganking lvl11 players as they enter the system killing the game more
but its all moot as said when theres nothing OW to do any more after they streamline everything and now they try and slow it with their new lvl progression for higher tier gear
why not change it back to the way we use to OW lvl slowly whilst learning the class better and having fun like we use to rather than remove content and then slow us but needing to do more of the little we have

All of Baldera is no pvp lol. even when it says pvp enabled you cant turn on outlaw and cant attack anyone flagged. No way to kill out of guild healers in gvg.

I've noticed proponents of the old system follow a trend where they conjur up this fantasy, that epic fights were constantly taking place all over the open world, to support their argument. It's just that: a fantasy. The reality is that the vast majority of the so-called PvP was just harassing players with a level and gear disadvantage. Overworld PvP is still possible, but look at how many people don't want to participate when their opponents have comparable gear. The reason PvP died, ironically enough, is because players don't want a fight. They want an easy win. Players got tired of falling victim to fragile internet egos, so they begged En Masse to change it. Now they finally have a chance to level and join the fight on at least somewhat equal ground.

The decision was made by BHS.

Not the best way, they should have restricted ganking by item level.

Bluehole may have been the ones to make the decision, but the people are here asking En Masse to change it. An ilvl restriction could work. It's something that would require a lot of thought and planning.

    and a lot of work.
