That's not due to inflation, that's due to halving the supply of VG rewards.
Yes, I know. I warned about this back on January 3rd, when it was announced.
My point still stands as they're both the cause of the price hike. It's ezy pezy to farm gold through Guardians right now and they add alot of gold to the economy. Didn't even mention the gem boxes that EME was selling, people that won suddenly buying out all the mats to enchant.
i totally agree with you. when new players come in to look at the forums and they get crap advice, that alone is sometimes what keeps players away and why our population isn't growing. players should be helping other players and also promote the game if they love tera. I know much of the blame falls on bhs/eme losing older players, but the remaining players seem like they are trying to push newer players away. I guess they want the game all to themselves. yes tera has its pros and cons, but to me the pros still out weigh the cons. you can merge all the servers into one and eventually people will leave it due to various reasons, but the players attitudes shouldn't be one of the reasons why people leave.
As expected, that's why you see so few people: you're on leveling zones.
The majority of the playerbase is either already 65 (you'll see it doesn't take that long nowadays unless you're the type that likes leveling by questing), OR they're very spread out through the whole world and in different time zones on top of that, someone who may be close to your level may have left your zone 30 min ago and went to another one and so on. The open world is too big for easily finding people leveling around, other than the default start up to Lv 20.
You'll see a LOT more people when you go to Velika (specifically Freedom Plaza) and Highwatch, those are the typical hangout points, even I when leveling alts used to hang around Velika most of the time. Sometimes near them BAMs (in case forgotten: Big A$$ Monsters, and yes, chat filter blocks that word) you can find more leveling players.
It has always seemed to me that these type of threads SHOULD be
1. Those things that keep us playing, why we are still here.
2. Warnings of things that have bothered others that made them leave, so the new person comes in with eyes wide open.
3. Problems we are coping with, so they are known issues for the new person.
So my list is:
1. I am still learning new and challenging (for me) things. When I succeed the thrill is amazing. I like at least 2/3 of the people I play with and find it easy to avoid the ones I don't like. The combat style is amazing and I never get tired of it. I also never get tired of just logging in and flying around for a while.
2. The grind is real--Koreans love grindy games and we--don't. They also love random reward over steady progress. If these things bother you, you very well might want another game.
3. We are having an increase in prices, with few opportunities to earn gold for a new player beyond running the same dungeons over and over. There is a small profit in armorcrafting and weaponcrafting, but learning the crafting system takes time and you will need one level 65 character per Artisan or higher level crafting you wish to learn. So not exactly friendly to a new person. So if you don't wish to spend a lot of time on this game, and aren't willing to buy (with cash) costumes for others in exchange for in-game gold, you might get frustrated if you choose expensive goals. (Quickly gaining higher tiers of gear, lots of dyeable costumes, expensive flying mounts, etc.)
But I still have fun every time I log in. And I really can not understand anyone so self-hating that they log into a game they don't enjoy, or so self-defeating they discourage new people from playing at all.
to avoid so much trouble for this player
i dont target tera
Also, i believe that the game is playable up to a certain point.
