Beta Rewards

Recently from what I've heard the rewards in the Beta don't carry over to the game on release. Which brings to question what is the point of having beta rewards, some of which you have to log at a specific time period, and it's jut going to be wiped? It defeats the whole purpose of having those awards. Then it's like this beta is only going to 3, 2 days being reward days. You wont even have time to to enjoy those rewards that you earned. I've never played a beta for a game that offered beta rewards and none carry over to the launch game.

  • These Rewards are Permanent that will be delivered after Open Beta around the time that TERA officially launches. ( You have to complete the challenges to unlock them.)

The Open Beta Stress Test Rewards are all all items that can be acquired throughout your time playing in Open Beta, but are only temporary, and will be wiped along with everything else. ( It's up to you if they are something you want to obtain )

I was mainly speaking about these "temporary beta rewards". It doesn't make a bit of sense. The Beta last for 3 days. 2 of those days you have to log in and play during a specific time and have to play for a certain amount of time. Whats the point of trying to ear these when you can only flaunt them for a day or a couple hours before the Beta ends. Like I said before, I;ve never played a Beta in my life with Beta Rewards that are only available during a Beta only to be deleted once it ends.
  • So you lose the rewards that are any good and just get to keep the masks whats the point of giving extra character slot to beta not even there for 3 days seeing as the first day most couldnt even stay connected

On the stress test rewards page it doesnt list if you keep them or it gets wipes i wish the news feed would have been more clear if we lose them
  • so the beta reward Page is literlly false advertising yes?

Screw ur fcked up wanna be beta
  • Not false advertising they were not clear at all instead of letting everyone know in the stress test new article that the rewards are temp and will not transfer to the beta they tell you nothing at they only list the rewards

False advertisement is when you buy a product with money that doesn't give you what you saw in the ad. You never bought anything in the open beta.

Temporary or not, they don't have any obligations to give us anything.

Its not about obligations. Typically when you play a Beta that offers "Beta Rewards" whatever you earn, you keep them. Everything you earned is transferred over. This is a different story and honestly it doesn't make a bit of sense. Lets offer "Beta Rewards" in a 3 day beta, where you earn the rewards during the middle and end point of the Beta, that you can only get during a certain time period, and let's erase those. By the time you earn the first rewards on Saturday, you'll have maybe a day left of play. By the time you earn the second rewards on Sunday, you'll have a few hours. lol smh.

First and most importantly, the beta is for testing, not for having fun and playing the game as if it was officially released.

Rewards and how they are handled is entirely up to the publisher and developer to decide. We don't get a saying in it. It's a service to those who spent time playtesting during the beta.

Instead of spending time complaining about rewards being temporary, you should be reporting issues and bugs to help them make the best possible release on the console.

Reporting bugs? srsly the hole game is single bug...devs just need to log in and they see it

The problem is it doesn't state clearly that all these rewards only only for use in the beta. They could have added 1 sentence to the post and it would not have this big of an impact and false information going around the internet.
Of course they decide what to give but not saying it clearly and getting allot of misunderstanding is not the way to do it.Its about being clear with your community.
Currently people expect certain things like playing beta and getting rewarded for it in the full game. f2p or p2p etc. this is basically a standard these days.
For me personally that's not a good way to start off your game.
  • It should go without saying that the items you get in a beta will not carry over to the full games, unless specified. I for one do not mind losing everything when the full game is released, mostly because I assume I will get cooler rewards in the full game.

this is the problem with the Tide Pod generation.

Yet you expect it to be carried over into the finished game. That's YOUR mistake, not theirs. I have said it many times before. Do not expect freebies in a beta to be carried over into the finished game. Never have any such expectations. If it's mentioned that there will be beta rewards, clearly you're the ones who misunderstood the whole thing.

Wasting time complaining about stuff like this, is not going to help make the game better for release, and that is something you guys need to understand. Just drop out of the beta all together and never sign up for alphas, closed or open betas ever again if you don't understand the purpose of having an alpha, closed and open beta. an alpha, closed or open beta is not your 'playground' where you play the game as if it's finished. Your only purpose is to test it, report bugs and other issues.

For P2P games, you pre-order the game, and you get automatically invited into the closed beta, and THAT comes with certain perks, and THAT is common practice.

Getting rewarded for simply joining an open beta in a F2P game, and then getting rewarded is NOT common practice.

It is also up to the developer to decide whether or not you get a freebie that carries over from the beta to the finished game.

Stop acting so self entitled and do what you're supposed to be doing in the beta. Report bugs and other issues and be happy they even bothered doing an open beta in the first place, and if you get to keep anything once the full game releases, be surprised and happy about it, even if it's something temporary.
