Its very disheartening that people judge MMOs like TERA by population numbers, but at the same time, its understandable.

TERA Population is not the same as it was 2 or 3 years ago, and is been slowly in decline. Now we have something like a cycle. When a new update hits, Population numbers increase. After a week or 2, population numbers start to decrease again due to people clearing content way too fast and then threads like "We need more end game" will start plaguing the forums. A new update arrives, and population increases again, and its been like that for the past 2 years.

I wouldn't call TERA a dead game just yet, people just use the definition freely on any game they deem "dead" due to publishers wrongdoings and devs inability to gather actual player feedback. IT certainly is not the same as before when both publisher and dev cared for their game. Being honest, it now feels like a Zombie game, because there is hardly any communication in between the publishers, EME, and the playerbase. Before, the GMs would play with us, drop by more often into the server and simply spend some time with the players. Now the GMs are always invisible never to be seen. EME is "trying" but always falling 2 step back when it comes to pleasing the playerbase, specially when it comes to Loot Boxes and their contents.

Overall, TERA playerbase is not as high as it was before, but is still there, and it may increase if the Console Release is a success. You can judge the population on your own by playing the game. You wont find many people in the low level areas while you are leveling. The gathering places are always Highwatch and Velika. Thats where you will find more people.
  • Oh ok and btw i am not disrespecting this game cause of its population i just like game that are playing a lot of people buuut i will give it a shot

Definitely depends on the server too. Most would tell you to join a server like MT or TR for the most activity.
  • tera dead next :V

well i think you will have fun in tera for one month before to back to guild war 2 or to try another mmorpg, i dont really see how tera can convince guild war 2 fan to stay in tera for at least one year
