How are battleground ratings determined?

I have the highest contribution points on the losing team and I get different bg ratings loss everytime, is it based on the overall performance of the team or what?

Im talking about the amount of rating points u get,how is it determined.
Not about the system of winning and losing
Clearly you did not understand what im asking for
However if you leave you dont lose points.
if you mean ratings for rankings: is the same thing, you lose if you lose and win if you win. the ammount of you get is based on a modify elo system that take your current rank and the average rank of the enemy team, higher rank less points per win.
if you mean by credits(only console now) is based on the ammount of contribution you did during the match ( the contribution points is different for every batleground)
