How is Tera right now?

Hi, played Tera many years ago, if I remember, Manaya's Core was the end game dungeon at the time with others like one with a green slug man. I was think about coming back.

I have some questions, plz don't use abbreviation, because I'll probably won't know what you are talking about.

- Been geared: What someone has to be with to be considered geared, costumes, gear, access, talismans, runes, gems, etc, dunno what the game has and how grind it is to achieve that.

- Enhance system: Is the enhance system still without break and downgrade, how easy or difficult it is to reach max enhance? And about rolls.

- End game content: What are the PvE end game content (dungeon names), so I can search them on youtube, any need of a party? How sucessful is it to run with random people or better to find a group/guild to run them? How laggy is it?

- Most efficient dps for solo and most efficient dps for party, don't come with "play what is fun", I just want to know what is efficient and not have long dailies and dungeons runs.

Gear has never been more easy. At level 65 you will just be handed a functional set of gear. You have 16 Dailies to farm for materials. There's 2 currencies - one currency can be broken down so you can get what you really need for mats.

You're coming back at an interesting time. On April 17, the "Awakening" patch is coming. If you don't play a Tank, Healer or a Slayer, Berserker, or Warrior for DPS your class cannot be "Awakened" yet but you receive a ~17% damage increase until that class is awakened.

You will need to get your gear to item level 439 which will take a number of weeks to get to. Repeating Tier 2 Island of Dawn BAMS during that time is effective as you "level" your gear with experience to increase the chance of success when enchanting.

Btw you may have a bunch of old feedstock that dismantles into the new mat currency. If you're sitting on a bunch of gold from before, it will help. Don't be wasteful with it - it won't last long. Enchanting is expensive.
  • - Been geared:
You get a full set of gear which is enchanted in linear fashion. This includes jewelry. Only exception is the brooch, where you have two options, although both end up as the same item eventually, once that combines the effects.
Costumes are still entirely cosmetic, so no need for them. That's not saying that you shoudn't buy swinsuits for your elin however.
You will need glyphs for your skills to make them better. Some you get from a few easy dungeons (in RNG chests), others you can buy with credits you get for daily quests and/or from farming bams

    -Enhance system
Aye, they changed how it works but still, no chance of loosing your gear.
Basically, you need a few items, some crafted and some dropped in dungeons, and some gold. All items have a certain chance to enchant successfully, which goes up with item exp, gained through daily quests. This however caps. Early on you'll have 100%, later on 20%.
Failing an enchantment will consume all items and gold, but will leave the gear piece as it was. The next try will have +3% chance, so eventually you'll get there. Might take forever tho. The first gear you get does not have item exp.

    -End game content:
You start with Shattered Fleet (SF), Kalivan's Challenge (KC) and Ravenous Gorge (RG). At level 65 you'll also see all dungeons in your Instance Matching window, however most will be unavailable due to your gear
The early ones can generally be done via IM, a lot of geared players run them for money and any party formed via chat will surely be for those. But they are easy. You always want a full party, it's faster and you get more loot. Lag seems to vary, I suffer a 200ish ping but no lagspikes, bothers seem to have problems sometimes.
    Guilds always help.

    - Most efficient dps for solo and most efficient dps for party
Awakening is coming, so go for warrior, slayer or berserker. Avoid ninja.

    Hi, welcome back.

    >gear
There're multiple tiers of gear right now, and the enchanting system was revamped a few months ago and replaced with something else. At lower tiers it is quite friendly. When you reach the higher tiers (Frostmetal is second best, Stormcry [SC] is current best; everything lower is quite easy to do), it becomes grindy and expensive. If you know how to play your class, you'll do fine in Frostmetal gear in most dungeons if you use consumables. Newly added dungeons have harsh DPS mechanics, so in practice you probably won't get into many LFGs if you're not well known for being good despite being in frost, or if you don't have stormcry gear. Sad truth but there it is.

End game content depends. There're 3 categories here. Low tier, mid tier, and high tier.
Low tier is the stuff you'll do when you have absolute bottom of the barrel free-for-hitting-65 Guardian gear. These dungeons include Shattered Fleet (SF), Ravenous Gorge (RG), and Kalivan's Challenge (KC). You cannot actually start SF or KC without a full group so don't try to solo those. RG can be soloed.
Mid tier gets you Lilith's Keep (LK), Thaumetal Refinery Normal Mode (TRNM) and Kalivan's Dreadnaught (KD). While you could attempt to solo these if you wanted to, it is much much much more efficient in a group and you can do it with total randoms without any problems unless people have actual brain problems.
High tier stuff includes Ruinous Manor normal and hard mode (RMNM/HM), RK-9 Kennel normal and hard mode (RK9) and Thaumetal Refinery hard mode (TRHM). I would do these in an LFG with geared players if I were you, or with friends. They have very harsh penalties if the damage dealers in the group are not good, so IMS can often be a trap.

If you want to pick a top tier dps right now, go with warrior, berserker, valkyrie, and MAYBE slayer since they got some buffs recently but idk how it affects them. they're all good in parties. For solo play, I don't know. Warrior's probably pretty self sufficient there. Dunno how valk plays. Zerk loses HP from overcharging; I hate solo playing on mine because of that. This isn't to discount the other classes, because with enough gear you can be really good on most things right now. Only class I'd suggest staying away from is ninja, but even there I know ninjas in stormcry gear who do incredible damage so.

    Hope this helped.

So it is getting Stormcry gear, glyphs and jewelry, enhancing it (maybe roll with scrolls) and that is it about gear? Can you guys estimate how much time it takes to have those? Let's say if I play to 6-8 hours a day.

    Best Jewelries btw?

Do having more than one char speedup the process (because of dailies materials)?

Enhancing requires various materials obtained primarily through dungeons, which have daily entry limits on them so there's only so much you can accomplish in a day. I'll leave time estimates to someone else; I haven't restarted from 0 in a long long time.
Jewelry is given to you for free at 65 and you upgrade it as you go. Some gives power, some gives crit. Depending on your class you go with the power or the crit set. Some use both and mix the sets. Having multiple characters speeds up the process because of daily materials yes, but you also get experience applied to your item which, when maxed out, increases your odds of succeeding at an enchanting attempt. So there's pressure to play on your main and on your alt, essentially.

I'm seen the elite status on the site? Anyway to get it without $. I remember that I could buy a ticket that let me getting in dungeons with entry limit from the market after I had 0 entry.

Double entries, EVERFUL NOSTRUM and XP/Reputation gain seems pretty, hum, OP I think to have. Other things seems for convenience.

You can buy it on the broker from others who've purchased it with money but it's expensive for someone just starting out. 65k~80k+ depending on your server. For perspective, you get like 600 raw gold from one low tier endgame dungeon run.
It's an OP thing to have while you gear up yeah.

most your old scrolls mats and other stuff that's no longer useable in game can be dismantled in to tokens for the new enchantment stuff
