What you fail to understand is any one who's been playing this game from day one, can understand how the game works and what path it's heading towards.
When i tell you that the game is dying/dead, this is not some angry fanboy, this is a hardcore player who enjoyed the Tera Online exp for a long time now, and sadden to see it fade away.
You can think the game is doing well all you want, but you're only fooling your self in the long run.
The path Enmass wants to take the game will turn out half of the games content (Pvp And Level) dead to dying state.
Not sure how you cant see this, look what they done to pvp?
Look what they did to the leveling system, can you really defend that?
For what? To get to 65 faster only to leave the game sooner?
People had PvP system at lest to play when burned out, now you got NOTHING!
Clearly, you lack any EXP of how MMO's work, this one and others.
I wish, anything you said was true, i really do, i love this game.
But sadly, i have seen this same path laid be for Enmass like many other MMO's be for it.
And if Enmass is not willing to lay a side road for the NA player base (Clearly they wont, they stated that much)
then this game will become like K-tera, only thing alive in K-tera is PVE and not by much.
At the end of the day, we don't have to sit here and second guess what will happen to Na-Tera Online
Our Korean Brothers & Sisters already have the same copy of our game a year from now.
Think about all of what i said for a moment, maybe it will sink in, but most likely, it wont.
Peace & Love!
MMORPGs are only interesting to watch if there is PvP :^). I am pretty sure that is why Blade and Soul's 1v1 PvP was very popular in Korea prior to NA release.
Truth be told, popular gaming streams will almost strictly be PvP (and even if it isn't PvP it will be speedruns which also is a form of PvP in a sense).
If PvP gets more recognition in KR I am very sure Tera across all servers would have double WoW's population by now.
Korea and the NA aren't the same. BNS is not even doing well in NA. GW2 has competitive pvp and it's still pretty small despite the fact pvp there gets attention too. NCsoft gets a majority of their profit from Korea alone. Even if you combined every region against Korea they would still be lower than Korea. BNS also dropped as of Q3 2016 and dropped further during Q4 2016 (same for GW2). Lineage and Aion manages to stay stable or slightly increase in comparison.
this post is so pure.... so untainted. it reminds me of when i first started playing, it tugs at my heartstrings. godspeed my friend, enjoy your time in tera-- listen to your heart and not the voice of the masses.
I was thinking about how they are ruining this game then I read this post. I remember having the exact same feeling 3 years ago and it was amazing. Makes you realize where you are now compared to when you first started playing. This game is fantastic and provided a feeling of pure enjoyment... If only it could still do the same for me now. Good luck on your adventures friend c:
Pros: The playability of the game is great. Arsenal patch is great. It is so easy to gear up to playable level, and it is so easy to make gold. It's far better than the old +15 awakening system. PVP is at least active every day, which is great. There are still new players coming, and even more now that console players see the PC version. Guardian Legion is fantastic (if not monotonous.) I still love the game. BHS cancelled talismans (yay!) and Awakening comes soon.
Cons: We have no CM, and that kills the relationship. There is almost no communication. There is still dead content and dead in game chops, 7 months after they said they would change them. EME nerfed VGs into the ground and give it back once a month for a week as a "prize". Many of the "events" are pretty terrible. There is no thought for balance or the time length of RM/RMH. We have p2w events and sales every few weeks, but the in game events are pretty meh (some have been great, some are just... there.) EU is outshining us by a long shot, and it seems EME only has time to focus on console. KTera keeps balancing around talents, and we might not even be able to clear the new dreadspire on Day 1 unless you are in full +9 with t4 etchings and a guild group, because the bosses have 10 billion hp (no joke.)
TL;DR: If you haven't played in a while or if you are a pretty casual 1-3 days a week player, you're going to like it. If Tera is your main online game, there is a lot of things to be frustrated and upset about, even if there are some things that are going well.
why are we posting in a year old thread btw
