Im on PS4 Pro and the screen tearing is awful.

  • That would be a terrible idea. For Vsync to work efficiently, it would require the game to run first be running at a stable framerate. As is, TERA's performance is a mixed bag, especially with the memory leak issue. Vsync would only worsen the problem in this situation.

They need more gfx options period. There's 2 fking options and one of them is Lurid which does absolutely nothing important. Wow, you can turn blood on and off. I would rather have the game look terrible and have it run well. Let us turn the gfx down the same as on PC.
  • Developers specifically tailor the experience for consoles. There is just no point when everyone is on equally comparable hardware.
If performance is an issue, then there is a much greater underlying problem. Giving us graphic options would be tantamount to saying: we don't feel like fixing our game, do it yourself. Admittedly, it would be nice -- I just don't personally find the need.

The tearing is awful, Id rather keep dying constantly due to whatever input lag having vsync would cause, than to kill my eyes when they uncontrollably follow two separate tears every 30 seconds.
  • Please have this fixed it is spool badd
  • Agreed it is terrible and super distracting. IF Final Fantasy XIV can run great then why cant this? Its optimized for PS4 and even better on PS4 pro. It even ran great on a PS4 pro before the patch came out using the boost mode feature and was usually near or at 60 fps and no screen tearing.. Dont see why Tera cant? I get it 2 different games. Just Tera need some bugs worked out.
  • Since when has FF been 60 fps

They run on different engines, and Square is a bigger company with more assets and team, Tera still doesn't run well on PC, won't be much better on console etc

It is pretty common to have graphics options with PS4 Pro, though. Usually they let you turn on/off higher settings, like Final Fantasy 15 for example, it runs terrible in 4K, but you can drop it to 1080p on PS4 Pro.
I do really hope they can optimize Tera a bit better on consoles. It has been running smoother overall in the last few days - the Founder's week it ran so badly, but the tearing is still an issue.
  • 6KPMHHLR3 Are you playing it on PS4 Pro or regular? I run it on Pro, and it tears a lot. I can still play it, but tearing is very noticeable.
  • I have both standard and pro with severe screen tearing when turning left or right. It's very sad. I just hope they listen to us all
