Honestly, the "fix" isn't really a fix. It's a "make the instance a bit easier" band-aid, but the issue in the current case truly isn't "the instance is too hard and it needs to be easier so people can clear it," it's just that people want it to be marginally faster to improve rewards/time.
If you really wanted them to implement compensating buffs that truly make up for the loss of talents, it wouldn't be just the (amazingly poorly-named) Goddess Blessing buff EU used. It'd have to be a comprehensive solution that also fixes class balance differences and everything, and only BHS can provide a solution for that.
After awakening hits, if BHS hasn't already done anything to address this and there are problems clearing content, I'm sure they can do stuff like was done in the past with Dreadspire for that specific content. But I don't think the fact EU used that buff in a dungeon is a sign that they're "committed to combating the imbalance of talents," nor is it a solution to the problem in any real way. It's just a small difficulty nerf. In all these threads, no one's really made a convincing argument that the difficulty right now needs to be nerfed just because we don't have talents and veteran players in K-TERA do. When awakening and the next round of content hits, it may be a totally different story.
It's not a fix yes, its more of a alternative because we should of got talents when ktera got them over 2 years ago. Now honestly i don't actually want the talent system any more because the amount of grind it would add at this point would be terrible. I'm more pissed off the fact that they ARE balancing the game around that said system that NO other region has. When they design dungeons they are designing them around a specific perceived amount of damage based on gear, glyphs and obviously talents
You can even see some changes they made most likely because of talents in normal class balances which affected our regions even more, namely the healers resurrection cast time which they nerfed the speed it casted to create more "tension" because that tension was absolutely nothing with the talent system in korea because they have a talent specific to res speed(not to mention a talent that makes people take 50% less damage when they get revived for a few seconds), another example the bosses have really damn high crit resist because healers have talents that reduce crit resist consistently. A lot of classes are litterally missing out on atleast 10-20+ power that are given from talents, which is ALOT you would realise if you actually played the game.
So i dont want the talent system at this point because we have missed out of 2 years of farming and leveling the system so it would be a pain in the [filtered]. What i do want is something reasonable to compensate for what the talents system would of potentially given us over the 2 years. It's not a case of us asking for a easier game, i'm all fine for challenge, but only when its intended challenge.
I play a lot of difficult games and they are enjoyable because the difficulty was tweaked a certain way. imagine say your favourite ARPG game, lets just say dark souls for example, Imagine they had a boss that you had only 5 minutes to beat, it was fine in the korean version of the game because they could upgrade their weapons and stuff and the developer made that boss in mind with those abilities and items. Now imagine they port it over to america and somehow something went wrong in the localization process and it broke the upgrade system where procs and damage enchantments weren't working and there was no way to progress and unless you flawlessly did this boss you would never meet the timer. Do you think that's fair? That the americans would have to work way harder than another languages counter part because they recieved a inferior version of the game?
Goddess blessing in every dungeon is a bad solution, but at this point we'll take anything we can get because we know BHS doesn't give two flying carps about us or any other region except when its bringing in money and randomly introducing mystery item passes for $60 that could contain sparky for all people know.
P.S. I know perfectly [filtered] well the impact of "10-20+ power" from, guess what, playing this game since launch. But it's still not really the answer to this problem at all.
What part of EME or BHS doesn't get stop balancing around talents, why would they make a system that affects the games balanced and then only make one region get it. Literally some classes are atrocious in NA because of how much it changes how they work. Who the hell thought this was a good idea?
I remember back when HH30 got here, that we had to get compensation buffs already. Some bosses in dungeons took 3 mins in Korea, 4/5 mins for us and that was fine. There were only differences in clear times between 1 or 2 minutes. Right now the clear times have time differences from 4/5 mins. It is painfuly obvious BHS is still balancing around Korea and nothing will change. I don't expect you to run endgame and I don't expect Enmasse to fix everything right away, but just acknowledging the problem is a big step in the right direction (instead of not reading and locking threads). They added awakening to help with balancing, but Korea has awakening AND the talents.. how is this going to help other regions? Every region should be the same, especially if you have pay events this often.
They lost their PvP community, because BHS only cared about Korea and removed stuff without listening to other regions (they aren't that fond of PvP in Korea I heard). It didn't affect Korea, but it did affect other regions. I feel like the PvE community is next pretty soon.
BHS balances the game around talents and were not getting them.. fine... then its up to EME to do the balancing for us specific, like EU has done by giving 100% keen, nerfing boss hp, give op consumable.
EME should either buff characters OR nerf bosses OR increase rewards OR a combination of all so our rewards/time is equal or better then Ktera's.
Im still pissed about EME nerfing vg rewards and the way the game is now it should just die.
Stop ignoring us and closing threads @seandynamite @CobaltDragon
like talisman ( of lakan senpai ) rolls, somes ideas are nice ( like flaming barriage 100% damage for sorcer ) instead exesive grinding or others systems like auto superior nocterium/feast/guillegade buff in rmhm
Have you seen moongourd or LFG on any server in NA. It is legit sad how few hard mode clears there are on a given day. If they were actually looking at it they would have made a change by now. You can check the amount of Clears in Ktera for RMHM when it was released and it is a lot less in NA.
There are an awful lot of factors that play into that. It's too simplistic to say that it's because the content is too difficult to clear. Whenever EME does a dungeon highlight and boosts the rewards, the clear rate goes way up. So it is a rewards/time problem, but that's not necessarily a difficulty problem.
I want to be clear that I'm not saying all this as if I don't want them to fix this. I do and I already spelled this out at length in another recent thread. It's something everyone on the Player Council have brought up ad nauseum, and is an endless thorn in this community's side. It's abundantly clear to everyone (including to EME) that this situation is a mess that should never have happened. But it's just one part of a massive end-to-end problem with both incentives/rewards and balance in this game that flows down from BHS. Talents are just a sliver of the problem.
Also, I'm not even necessarily against them giving the Goddess Blessing buff if it creates a perception of "doing something" (again, as I said in a previous thread), but I won't pretend that it truly addresses anything. It's a band-aid at best that will just increase the call for a never-ending increased supply of band-aids going forward. And, if you've followed the politics at all, EME will not be allowed to pay staff to basically undo/second-guess BHS's balance/reward work, because that's not their place. So it's not a strategy that will work over the long term.
Eh, we have people that complains on here without any meaning.
"Dungeon too boring cause it's over too quickly"
*buffs the dugeon*
"Dungeon takes way too long I wanna get this over with!"
Meanwhile most people that doesn't bother on these message boards have nothing to complain about.
Also completely missing the point, what is it with reading on these forums. The longer clear times are the fault of poor balancing in the first place. All we want is the same experience KTera has, the same damage numbers, being able to play all classes normally (cough ninja).
And i do not mind to work a bit harder to clear content but what bothers me is that certain classes get locked out from PvE by the LFG groups ( hello brawler xD ) and players like me have to reroll into something else to not get ignored.
But maybe there will be a way to fix this talent issue sometimes in the future.
