Lancer & Brawler PVE lvl 65 jewelery

Hey everyone,
I hope some OP lancers and brawlers can help me out there.
I recently made both lancer and brawler and reached 65 lvl, extremely enjoying both tanking styles (compared to warr-tanking I was into, like, 3 years ago)

However, guides on Essential Mana, as awesome as they are about rotations and glyphs, and general info "how-to", confuse me at the question - which jewelery sets I should go into upgrading?
With Arsenal patch we get easy path of upgrading gear, you can't really make mistake except wrong rolls (which can be rerolled), but with jewelery, and generally accessories, you need to pick The-Crit-Route or The-Power-Route for each piece...

I am kinda scared I invest tons of time and materials, upgrade fe. crit earring, only to learn from someone much wiser later-on that I should have invested into power earing all the way back when I hit 65 and got the basic jewelery set.

For some classes there is an easy solution "go full crit set/go full power set" but brawler/lanc are not those it seems as I read guides?

Brawler guide recommends balancing power/crit around the graph it gives, which is ok with me, but how should I know if my balanced set won't become unbalanced after first/second upgrade? :)
As for lancer I also didn't find definite info which of the new Arsenal pactch jewelery should be best.

Help anyone? :)

  • I probably can give an idea for lancer but not brawler. Pretty sure the best combination for lancer has always been 3 pc crit + 2 pc power, which I personally have had for a long time. It's best to aim around +220-238 crit and build the rest with power through pumped earrings and using pumped etchings on all the jewelries. Building crit for lancer is best because we are in front of the boss and crit chance is severely limited compared to being in the back of the boss. But then again building too much crit is also hurting, so it's power balancing is something that is needed. Some skills like spring attack crit cap is somewhere around ~35-40 percent and it never goes above that no matter how much crit lancer has. That is why most lancers build onto around the ~ +220-238 amount and then build rest with power. But then again crit rate for lancer is variant and it depends on so many factors.

The most recent lancer guide here recommends 3 pc godsbane + 2 pumped. The 3 pc Godsbane is the older crit jewelry before the Stormcry patch and it was recommended in this patch because it had the extra +4 attack speed bonus where the new crit jewelry did not have this speed but had a little more attack modifier. The guide is probably not updated to show this but the godsbane jewelry recently got nerfed and it is not recommended anymore because the attack speed and crit bonuses are gone. It's best to use the newer crit jewelry for necklace/two rings, then use pumped for the two earrings. I forgot the names of the new jewelries but pretty sure you get them through the quests. I've also seen some lancers use full Crit 5 pc and using pumped etchings on all of them, that also may be an option but I find 3 pc crit + 2 pc power better.

I'd also like to hear from other lancers to confirm since I also questioned like what is the best combination right now since the godsbane jewelry nerf. I still use the 3 pc crit + 2 pc pumped. My pumped earrings have been fully upgraded to entropy for a longtime so I already invested a lot for those.
I also have pumped etchings on all my accessories. I used to have +238 crit rate but it went down to +224 because I switched my necklace and circlet rolls to power. I felt I needed a bit more power and so far it's working great.
  • awesome, thank you so much for your input, it makes so much more sense now :) I jut set 3crit+ 2power accesories, and I got 238 crit, and I guess I'll just try to test and make some small adjustements with rolls in the future if I ever feel I could use more power :)
  • You're welcome :)
