Confused on RK-9 equipment level
Hi,
I'm new to doing RK-9 and read up on guides and videos on how to do it.
I'm kinda confused on how some players can take hits from certain mechanics like the grinder on the second boss, hexaphelon and survive. And when i get hit by the saw attack it one shots me. My character is a mystic with unenchanted frostmetal. Seems like almost everything one shots me in the dungeon.
I'm having a lot of difficulty staying alive on the second boss. For instance after his system shut down aoe, i run out and avoid the big aoe, he does a donut , i teleport jaunt in to the same area and instantly die, and I didn't touch the cross sphere. Any help would be greatly appreciated, seems difficulty of the dungeons jump after reaching 439 ilvl. Thanks.

check the guide if u use the correct ones
I marked all the visible safe spots in this picture.
Now turn on boss attack safe zones thingy if you haven't so you can learn the ranges. He has a few attacks that you can easily avoid. A mystic can actually get around the whole fight without using their teleport at all, just walking and never getting hit.
I recommend you stay at side of the boss, so you don't get hit by the pushback that happens after this attack:
During shutdown you hide at the safezones that are closer to the walls because half of the first safe zone will be in the hitbox of the one shot. After shutdown he can either to an inner circle aoe or the donut, the large aoe. WIth time you will learn that the speeds he does those two attacks in are different, he goes into the small aoe faster than compared to the big donut which takes him a tad longer to "activate".
As for getting one shot by the grinders, it depends on your health. I think the grinders in normal mode hit for 90-95%ish of your health so if you're not full health you will die.
Another tip is, you can avoid pushbacks by using corruption ring but for a new player that might not be worth it since you need to know all the attack patterns well.
For the rest of his attacks go to essential mana and check out hexapleon.
Be careful when you're resurrecting people, if you're willing to risk it you can rez a dead person that's under a grinder and eat the attack but you must make sure your health is full. If the person is dead right under the boss wait for the boss to do one of his pushback attacks and then go rez them.
(And then you go to HM, wipe 20 times and disband).
Being in FM+0 obviously means you'll take tons of damage. As a priest with endurance etchings and rolls on SC+4, I reliably survive the pistons in NM with about 10% HP. Still, get used to the safe zones and that shoudn't be a problem.
About those: CorbishRex already posted a picture, I'd like to add to that: The Hexagons closer to the middle aren't entirely safe. If you're standing on the father end of them, you're in range. So only stand on the inner side. You'll see what I mean when both pistons next to one come down at the same time.
In short:
- Learn safe zones
- learn and avoid pizzacutter and pushback attack
- keep a cleanse ready because chances are your party won't avoid it
It takes a while, but overall RKNM is a fairly easy dungeon, especially for healers.
