I'm afraid they're neglecting the PC version of the game too much in certain aspects. I guess right now they're focusing on consoles, which is understandable given the time and resources invested in that project (and because they have the chance to build the player base from scratch there), but they're counting too much on the PC version to hold on its own simply because it's player base is already built.

Since Spacecat's departure there's been streams for AVA, Closers, Kritika and the console versions of Tera, but on PC there hasn't been much interaction. I'm not saying the tokens and other stuff don't count as event's, but arguably the Godsfall patch is a big one and one would expect some more drums and whistles. Monster invasions, BG/Dungeon events, you name it. I could see Spacecats filling Velika with dracoloths on launch day at certain times just for laughs, but I doubt there will be a lot of action from the company in the game.

I also feel I need to thank Cobalt and Sean for trying to keep the forums updated with event news and such, that's always appreciated, but I also hope they can soon rebuild a good and strong community team for PC Tera.

I could see space doing that lol and spaming those huge blobs that are spawned by the mystics haha, oh god and the new bird mounts would be everywhere it'd be annoying and fun all at once.

Tera NA is doing significantly worse than every other region in the world Tera is hosted and it is 100% EME's fault.

Does anyone have information about the events being run in other markets, like JP, TW, RU, and even KR? It'd be interesting to actually compare all the global markets to understand what kinds of events they do -- if nothing else to give more ideas of what could be done.

I can look into and see. Counterpoint you've been here longer than I have so I am guessing you remember the old events as well?

I remember all the old events, yes, but some of the most memorable ones for me are probably going to be hard unless EME hires more community team staff. They used to have three people 100% focused on TERA PC, and now it's very diluted. This particular leveling event is one thing and probably isn't that hard in principle, but the appeal will still be niche. If they want an event that engages the whole playerbase or is really exciting, it'd take a lot more work to organize.

Anyway, this is why I'm interested in ideas that are fun but wouldn't take too much time to do. I wish they could go back to the old days and majorly expand the staff again, but that's obviously a business decision.

Same same. I like the level events though * mostly because I need more coupons* and I do like to test out other classes. I main a valk right now but I have been wanting to try getting more involved as a healer just cant find the motivation.

Yeah, personally, I'm with you. I find it hard to find the motivation to level new classes outside of leveling events, even though the leveling process is already plenty fast. Just knowing that it could be faster or could be more rewarding is some sort of psychological barrier lol. Objectively speaking I don't know if we really need an event because leveling is so streamlined now, but I still like it anyway.

Yeah leveling is stupid easy now but even so it'd be nice to be rewarded. I guess maybe leveling is harder on tera EU no idea not played much since I'm waiting until tuesday to really test my ping but still..It'd be nice to do something. Even last years vanguards goldfinger tokens would be something I'd play for.

Well, one thing is that EU doesn't have TERA Rewards, so for people who've worked their way up the tier, leveling actually is easier here. (The TERA Rewards XP buff is multiplicative too, which gives it a lot of power if you're high tier.) But still, I wouldn't say leveling is normally hard either -- it's the same in EU as it is on Console right now for example, and it still doesn't take long.

In the end, I don't want to discredit the fact that we have things like this actually is an improvement from where we recently were, but yeah -- there's still more work to be done.

  • I honestly don't think a leveling event is even needed for awakening release considering that if you actually wanted to play an awakened class, you should already have one made or be leveling it right now, since getting ilvl 439 is the harder milestone to even get awakened skills.

Again missing the point. I like how all the players here forget that there are new players actually getting involved in the game now that console has so much hype. I have three level 65s not able to be awakened and 3 that can be even so it'd be nice to show the new people some of the things tera has to offer.

439 isn't as hard as it was previously with the lowered cost of gold for guardian/twist. A new player could get 439 in 2 weeks of playing just by finishing 16 daily vgs, and 40 boxes from guardian daily. ~2-3 hours per day isn't that much of an entry barrier, even if its not every day its doable on 1 char very quickly.

It's still not like the copious free FM+0 that EU gets, but it's still a lower bar than it was.

Again OP missing the point. New players will have more to learn about end-game and their class even before getting into awakening.

Let it be a progression, a goal. Once they reach item level 439 then they have something new to look forward to once they learn more about their class, end-game, and themselves.

Slapping awakening with all these new skills on top of new players getting all level 65 skills and getting master glyphs would overwhelm them.

So I will repeat this again.

    1) Item Gear XP event > Leveling XP event.
    2) Leveling is easy.
    3) Don't rush new players to get awakening.

    I rest my case~

Exactly this, whats the point of rushing new players to get everything out of the game without really putting time in it at all, they would just end up quitting right after messing around for a bit.

Whatever, I can see now why everyone hates NA and it's sad I live in the NA and even I'm starting to hate all of you. You bash and insult new players, tell them to leave the game. New players have no idea what tera has to offer , and with people like you oh so wonderful one, they certainly are not going to stick around I know if I was new and met someone like you I'd most definitely have left. Also what got me into this game was one of the level up events and I * gasp* stayed I know how shocking that must be to someone but i was lured in with events of course, thanks to people like you those event's no longer exist.

This has absolutely nothing to do with gear leveling. My post ws about new players being rewarded for being new players like the good ole days when en masse gave a crap

Awakening should be made avaliable for players at earlier stages. Awakening is not gear, it is actually core skills that affect your whole game play and should be avaliable at level 65 without gear requirements. This should be the case for master glyphs also.
