enchantment rate is terrible after sc
i spent over 400 gold plates, 80 emeralds and 300k of metamorphic tokens to go from SC+0 to SC+1
wow, this is crazy
not worth enchanting after sc+0
to those people that say i am lying, it doesnt work like that, i got to +1 after about 5 tries, then after that failing all +2 til i burned out my plates
- does it make any sense to you?
- wow i guess people will always assume things, yes i have 80k of gear xp on my stormcry, stop making up stuff you dont know about

its 15% base +15% from exp,
so your chances are 30%/33%/...90% and just succeded when you had 90% chance to upgrade?
there is 2 options: or you are lieing about of ammounts of materials (and would be 100 emerlads not 80)
or
you had terrible luck
One of the many parts you should consider (that is part of my tests huehue) is that the sampling space tends toward the probability when the sample count goes towards infinite.
This means in other words that even if you have 90%, those 10% can (and possibly WILL) keep screwing you over and over. Make the experiment: do 10 coin tosses. I bet my Elin's tail you'll not get 5 heads and 5 tails. This is possible yeah, but very unlikely. The probability is reached on infinite tosses, you MAY get something exact to your probability in the minimum amount, yes, but very unlikely.
This also brings up the Gambler's fallacy. It basically says that the gambler overestimates probability: if something with multiple (or even two) possible outcomes has been giving you the same result, you can assume that either this result will continue happening or that it will change, but this does NOT translate to reality necessarily.
Boring math side's TL/DR: don't think that 50% means you'll succeed after failing, or anything like this. Even 90% chances have the dreaded 10% fail chance which may bite your back.
is rng
im get +5 to +7 without fail, but im fail 6 times arrow in +2 to 3
praise to rng jesus
What we have to know and accept is that having a low or a high probability does not guarantee anything whatsoever but only decrease or increase our chance to enchant which in itself is a chance meaning that it can always work/fail..
Also, i think that the current system is extremely friendly towards gearing up ( etchings included + perfect rolls ) because to be honest it was much more harder until now to acquire the equivalent of +0SC at previous patches or even get III etchings plus perfect rolls on gear. Also, we have the option of getting I etchings on jewelry ( 7k gold for +12 crit? i can take it xD ) .. OR II etchings on jewelry at pretty decent prices ( 60k for +24 crit? i am game ).
Yes, because Stormcry is the final gear in the game currently (and on KR, there is only 1 upgrade after Stormcry and it doesn't enchant past +0). It should be difficult and expensive to get. Yet, I have 4 characters in Stormcry with one being full +9, and I never had 4 VM characters with the old enchantment system.
If you think these enchant rates are bad, I'm not sure you ever really experienced bad RNG with 6.5% no advantage enchanting from 12-15, or even the 20% no advantage enchanting from 12-15 with reset on fail. This gear patch might have flaws in its own right, but it's no where near as bad as where we came from and I'd rather not go back.
There are plenty of ppl who fail many times enchanting Scry. This is the main point: Only the most stubborn will have it. Its an end game gear and It must be hard to obtain.
I failed 12 times 6-7. Do you know how much mats is that? At least 2 diamonds 80 plates and mats for 65 k meta tokens EACH TRY.
What is the aim of thread? Yes disluck is evil. Agree.
One thing that i hate about Tera's endgame players is that they never tell the whole history, the full picture...
I got a SC +9/8/8/8 warrior , a SC+7/0/0/0 slayer , an SC+7/0/0/0 archer and a SC+4/0/0/0 sorc.
For a dps class in pve, the only thing BIS here is SC +9/8/8/8.
SC+7 with rest +0 is far from BIS, SC+4 is a bit better than mid tier in a game without talents and srry, but i consider mid-tier FM +7~SC+0 cuz we deal 30% less dps than koreans.
On previous VM patches, VM+15 weapon, VM+12 gloves and rest mid-tier +12 was already BIS for a dps class, there was no need for full +15 just for a pve dps class, unlike now that they want us to +8 boots, gloves, chest...
So, the only real cassino lottery game back then was to +15 your weapon and you were done.
And there was mongo, etc...
You can tell everything you want, about gold needed, enchanting correction, blablabla.
But the fact is: I put a LOT more time and effort to get BIS in this patch than any patch since VM5 when i started playing.
From mid VM6 till VM9 usually i was done gearing my dps class in BIS in like ~3 months then i could focus on alts, it took me ~6 months to do the same with my warrior now.
Just the time spent to cap gear exp on SC+7 is already MASSIVE and a pita for multiple alts.
In my book, the ONLY thing that matter is the time spent gearing and on gear revamp patch anything past SC+7 weapon w/ rest SC+0 is pure [filtered] and not worth doing for a f2p player.
It does not matter that we fail only 10x times now to +9 vs 100~150x before +15 cuz in the end the time spent farming mats is the same or even worse!
Btw: There's the jewelry too, it's orders of magnitude harder to get BIS now than previous patches!
They made the new system with the intention of making it easier for the casual player to make it to stormcry, which I think they've succeeded since I've never had so many alts in "end game" gear before. To make up for it they made it so that getting +9 harder.
But being perfectly honest, it really isn't necessary. I was clearing rkem reliably with a +5-+7 bow at a respectable damage output, since the differences aren't really that huge. To this day I still don't have +9 since I play casually and I like gearing alts, but I just don't feel the need to when I weigh the cost vs the benefits.
I like this gear system the way it is. To me the old system with the designs was much worse
