> There's already a strong presence of elitism in this game, we really don't need a DPS meter to make co-op activities more toxic for people. It's already a [filtered] feeling to wait 90 minutes to get into a dungeon just to be immediately kicked because you don't know a boss or something.
So watch a guide in that 90 minutes lmao. Suck more to wait 90 minutes and rage quit for failure.
Hell if nothing else a dps chart would show brawlers what they really were and the people who think they are dps would roll something else and stop running off with the adds.
THIS! I just about died of laughter when I read that comment. We need another reason to kick those downies the [filtered] out! It is just that much more satisfying.
No one would tell me how to get to that level if no one would let me in a party to level.
so yeah no damn dps meter is needed. it makes the damn game worse imo.
> a dps meter isn't needed. Reminds me of trying to level thf in FF11. join a party and get kicked. make a party and people leave. no one wants thf due to what they see as "low dps" even though I hit 2-3 times per their one sword swing, They would always tell me to do another job as thf was crap untill you get to the mid 30's for viber bite.

Thats final fantasy in a nutshell. Go play a realm reborn right now and there will be no damage chart but people will still tell you they dont need your support dps red mage and to come back with a black mage.
Only reason not to have one is because sometimes players are jerks. Literally the only reason. Sorry man but they are just gonna find a different way to be a [filtered]. There are tons of reasons to have one.
Testing for optimal rotation
Testing for optimal build
Testing one class against another
Competition between friends
it goes on.
> After using the dps meters in wow for so long, it kills me not having one here. The competitive dps races on bosses make it so much more fun. Watching your rankings change ever few seconds. If you come out near the top it’s more rewarding than getting new gear. Great deal of self satisfaction. For those that are low, at least they know and can go watch you tube and read guides.
Yeah theres none of that satisfaction for knowing your positioning and rotation were superior. In tera for all you know you are getting carried by your peers.
I'd rather have an average dps that helps the party more with mechanics and knows i-frames of their class versus an above average dps that needs to be rezzed multiple times on just one boss.
> And if you're constantly dying in a group to chase that chart, I'll let you know how good you are by showing you a loading screen on your kick out.

The dps that stays alive will always out dps the guy who stands in aoes to get his attack off. Not having a damage chart doesnt stop idiot dps from wanting to finish their combo while standing in the red.
If anything a damage chart at the end showing that often dead dps come in last place will likely make him try and get better. No one wants to die all the time and come in last. As of right now that constantly dying dps still thinks hes the [filtered] and that the healer sucks.
As I said all the reasons against a damage chart come down to one thing. Certain toxic players will be toxic. News flash thise players are gonna be toxic anyways.
Don't know what your experience in MMOs is, but leaderboards were unquestionably the biggest source of toxicity in games like neverwinter, where inexperienced or lower geared players would often get the boot or were even refused entry in guilds.

If I want to boot you bc your gear is substandard I don't need a damage chart. If I want to kick you for being a weak dps class or not knowing the dungeon I dont need a dps chart. Toxic players are the source of toxicity (of our city).
And toxic players dont need a chart to be that. However if I wanted to boot you bc your damage wasnt up to snuff I would have to wait until I had been out of combat for 2 minutes.
Do you know how hard it would be to convince me to stand still for 2 minutes bc a dps wasnt doing a lot of dmg? With no guarantee the next dps will do more?
If you could instantly kick someone then yeah dps chart might get ya kicked but no one is gonna get stop action for 2 minutes to get rid of a slow dps.
You clearly haven't done a hard dungeon yet. Have you heard of "DPS checks?"
First boss of SSHM, last boss of LKHM, 2nd boss in Timescape (you guys don't have that,) RKNM/HM in PC right now. You'll keep failing and you won't know why you can't break the shield, and you'll wish you could tell who it was that is making you waste an hour on one boss...
