Slayer or Berserker?
So I just downloaded the game and I know nothing about Tera so I don't know what is better for solo gameplay Slayer or Berserker, I would just like to know which class is better for pvp and soloing dungeons if need be.

Both are pretty good in PVP as well though Im not a PVP nerd so can't put much comment here, both can Knockdown chain others and burst them down pretty well.
Also, "Soloing" dungeons isn't really a thing anymore due to Leveling dungeons being buffed up considerably to make it harder. It's doable but requires alot of resources (Pots etc) and time and isn't efficient. As for Solo dungeons themselves, every class can do it
I have leveled both. If you want more details I gotcha. But Zerk generally more powerful, easier to maximize and can block.
Slayer has a few issues with some of its chains and is generally considered a weaker dps.
All that said I main slayer so dont let that be the deciding factor. Fun factor goes to slayer.
Zerk: highest dps in the game currently, slowest but excessively powerful, also the only class healers will run in fear of in pvp for fear of getting one-shot (every other class gets slept and danced on)
Is there a massive difference in dps? I do like the mobility the Slayer has but if I cant get into parties because I am using a weak dps class there is not much point to rolling one.
1) Berserker
2) Slayer (slayer would be #1 if you used MP pots on top of the elite nostrum but that would of ruined our experiment)
3) Warrior
4) Archer
5) Sorcerer
6) Reaper

No one is gonna kick you. Any class can put up adequate numbers. That being said the difference in dps is massive. A Zerk can spin in a circle and kill everything in the room. A slayer would have to bust of fseveral combos to do the same and they'd have to be grouped up better for the slayer.
Zerk literally hits like 4-5 buttons where as slayer I worked and worked to get my exact rotation and skill priority down. So for me zerk was mindless and boring. BUT I was clearly the most powerful thing in the dungeon.
Other dps classes in the dungeon with you feel like the npcs you are supposed to guard in the low level quests lol. It looks like they are hitting the mobs but nothing happens. Then you slam your axe and everything dies. Overpowered would be a fair term lol. So yes slayer is way lower. But so are most things.
Current patch only sorc can hang as far as pure dps numbers.

If I were you, I would play berserker, slayer, and warrior all to level 24 first. I did that with 7 classes. The first dungeon gets you from 20-24 in 30 minutes. 1-20 leveling is super fast and you get all your key skills by then. The second and third chars to 20 extremely fast because you know the quests. There is no reason to rush to endgame. Take your time and enjoy the ride.
Have you tried playing the classes in a proper dungeon? With a real tank and healers debuffing? Using your burn skills at the right time?
Experience does not mean anything if your base game knowledge is wrong or if you don't know how to play the class.
+12 Slaughter is nowhere near optimal. Classes get much better with proper accessories and Etchings.
Aggro is also a horrible indicator of DPS because burst DPS will always steal aggro over sustained DPS as aggro decays over time and different classes have different repositioning potentials. No BAM in the game will last long enough to measure DPS. The best way of measuring DPS without a meter is either counting the numbers in a video, or if you're lazy, seeing how long it takes to get a boss from 100 to X% with a healer and a tank.
