Things that Need to be Implemented for Console

Everyone who is playing Tera on console at the moment has at least some issues, here is what I personally would appreciate.
1. Make the chat box voice chatable, every phone and computer can do it, will make the chat box actually see some life.
2. Make R1 an optional separate skill bar just like L1 is.( I play Mystic and push alot of buttons I literally do not have enough to keep all my skills acessable even using the D pad and skill circle)
3. Many people on console don't realize the trouble in switching servers give them a free switch so they can play with friends without rerolling.( also give a reminder or heads up when first making characters)
4. Introduce a Npc that teaches or talks about aggro, many new mmo players on console who have no idea about aggro management.
5. MAKE A EASY TO FIND WAY TO LOG OUT.
6. A bug- if you don't log out but get disconnected when you try to reconnect you will not be able to get pass the server selection. ( Too get pass on the player part they have to restart Tera the close the application before once more reopening.)
7. A bug- In the Labyrinth where you go through bone piles to pick up dog tags or something occasionally the screen turns completely red for a while.

Alright now for unreasonable things I would like for Mystic.
1. Supporting on console is ridiculously tedious with the controller. In a five person dungeon why would i ever not want to use titanic favor on everyone when there is no reason not too just make it so it highlights everyone automatically( if your not adding the two person glyph in the dungeons then well why are you supporting anyways.) I spend most of my time whiping the screen back and forth and chasing down the one guy who can dodge all heals, but none of the damage.
2. NEEDED make it so full health and mana people can't pick up Health/mana nodes.

  • Someone should give you a medal for this. I play a priest so #4 there hold a special place in my list of problems that should not exist in the first place. We could use a resurrection option outside of paying 5g every time we die like I dunno starting at the entrance like it does on pc? To be perfectly honest i'm not sure why on earth you didn't just take everything from pc and copy it over. This is slightly insulting to have to pay full price for 1/3 of the game. In my honest opinion i'd wait a week and if its not fixed i'd put that ticket in for a refund because we don't deserve this kind of treatment. Ranting aside I absolutely agree with your comment.

item 3: No pc mmo I know of let you switch servers with your character. FF11 did when the users were declining as they were looking to close servers and gave people the choice of which one they wanted to go to if they payed money.

4: No MMO I have played has ever taught aggro management. you learned as you played the game.

    5: option/start > System> character = logout

    @Mayruchan
No one forced you to by a founders pack to play the game a week before official launch.
They went with a older build as it takes time to convert a pc game to console. it's not as simple as copy/paste. They have been working on this for some time so the build they had would of coarse be out of date by now.

I think its better its an older build, so there's more stuff to look forward to and do. I would have liked the class changes though and customizable combos.
  • An NPC that teaches how to manage Aggro isn't to bad of a suggestion but as mentioned before, it's not really something that is seen in most mmo's afaik, and you could always just get better and more detailed guides online from players then the basic explanation that dev's would even bother. As for logging out, I just press/hold the playstation button and go to Close Application, to me that is the log out button.

Also Mystics should have enough room for skills depending on what you are doing, Maybe not for PvP though but for Solo content or supporting in a dungeon, you should have enough room. Even if you are running low on room, you could always get rid of skills like Metamorphic smite and blast when you are supporting to make room for your more support/healing skills. But I honestly don't have any problems with room as I know what really is or isn't needed.

And supporting with Mystic on Console feels easier on the controller than on PC imo, and I really like the way they did it. Also there are times when full HP party members might need to pick up the health mote as those motes also cleanse. It's very useful for when you are the healer and trying to heal some of the party members who are dying while you have a few party members who have a debuff on them, it's nice that they can pick up a mote to cleanse it while you work on more important matters.
  • @Sakky
First it's not a pc mmo this version is on consoles so they need to take a different approach since many people on console do not know whats common on most pc MMOs. That's why I want them to give a warning even if they don't change it.

Second I agree you will eventually learn as you play but why make it that way. Unless you look online to figure out how to play better many people just won't instinctively understand what there doing. Would it not make sense for there to say be an army trainer quest before you can start dungeons that gives a summary of group tactics. It would make sense lore wise too honestly you wouldn't want a solider who fires a bow always next to an enemy, a tank who cannot aggro the enemies away from the others, and you wouldn't want a medic who refuses to heal. Even if they don't want to go that far they could literally give a dps, tank, and healer summary in the load screen to get into the dungeons

Third why make it like that sure i can travel around the world to get my neighbors, but why not just go directly across the street.
  • @Sakky I didn't buy a founder's pack yet because i'm still a bit wary. I love the game so I want to give them time to fix things but the issues being discussed are not due to older version. The res thing? That makes absolutely no sense and there is no reason I can think of for releasing the game like this. The things i'm talking about are not purchases they are negligent oversights or rushed mistakes that have no business in a game that's going on 5 years old now. I've played the PC version since beta and these things were never an issue so i don't see why they should be now all of a sudden because they moved the game to console. These things ought to be addressed expediently in my opinion.

Also just to make things clear, these are just my opinions and I am more than open to discussion if you feel like i'm mistaken or incorrect about any statements I make. I just want everyone to be able to play the game the way it ought to be and not in this partial state.
  • the servers stuff lame , and takes awat the for your personalized character on console , were not use to the boring way , also chat box customize like ff14 chat box could go along ways for console users we do got big tvs. and need the the colors and right background on chats. most other things are trivial.
  • Things that Need to be Implemented for Console? Well.... Bigger draw distance!
Why create a huge fantasy realm and than kill it with the horid draw distance we have on consoles?

The world looks blend (specialy large open areas) And trees just popin in at 5 meter distance from your character....
It makes the areas look realy bad. As in i'm in a huge forest but i can only see 3 trees. Same go's for the players and mobs around me.

Pls, pls make this a priority Fix :(

    (sry for my bad english)

    Thanks

Being that I haven't played Mystic yet is this with the 3rd (L2) skill bar too? Or just the default 2? Are they that intensive with different casts?

Also to add to the list.
    • Some of the text could be made more legible. like adding an overshadow.
    • Colorblind settings. Kinda hard to give some1 tips when they can't see the telegraph area
    • Pointer instead of cursor/select field. Probably wishful thinking but too much shoulder button navigation feels off sometimes. (although imo every game should do this)
    • Chatbox is a little tedious. U hit "enter" to type then another button to "send". And that's after hittting 2 more buttons to bring up the chatbox.
    • Some graphical QoL changes in terms of pop-in and UI speed. Even chat has to load your typed message before you can send it.
    • Map rotation option.

Fwiw, I knew coming into Tera that there would be some hitches compared to PC. This will forever and always be the case as long as consoles exist. We can have games with amazing graphics and whatnot but once you bring in the multiplayer aspect it generally takes a hit.

I am against a pointer vs what we have now. Onigiri has both and the only way is to navigate anything is the horrible pointer that's slow and very very inaccurate. trying to navigate via the cursor select never works well either. IMO pointers for navigating on consoles has always been horrible done and make thing worse.
  • Im going to keep it simple and just say a lvl sync for dungeons because after you go over the dungeon lvl cap u cant use the instance matching which leave players tryin to group up using the chatbox and that takes crazy long
  • Some of us need reverse x-axis we have been waiting since beta when it was said to have been tossed up the chain to the dev team. Why this option is not available but for some reason y-axis reverse IS i have no clue. I come from an mmo like ff14 which has both axis reverse option and i am too used to playing with them both reversed. You are leaving out a good portion of players by not simply adding a small setting like this. OVERALL though there is MANY issues with this tera port and bluehole needs to pull their heads out of their bums and get the important things done, instead of putting stupid event item bug fixes earlier in line. While those usleless bug fixes were already certified to be implemented, it does not excuse even having them ready and earlier in line than SERIOUS issues that are truly game breaking for many players.

All depends on the UI design team. The cursors do tend to be quite slow on console though. I think Destiny implemented it well but that took some work. AC: Origins as well. I guess it wouldn't bother me if the selection field couldn't tab left where the equipped item diagram is.

We also need a "sort by" kind of option.

"A beautiful game that doesn't run smoothly can/does quickly lose it's luster, not to mention not all players care about high detail (especially when it effects the quality of how the game runs)"

Increasing draw distance would increase the performance required to render distant objects in detail, performance which is currently quite a mess on console. Yes the landscape "is" beautiful though when you are fighting BAMs/questing rendering distant objects in more detail doesn't help you when you are encountering performance issues and while your screen is frozen the BAM/mobs are repositioning/smashing you LoL.

If anything variable draw distance being an option would appease detail and less detail seeking players.
  • What you say is true,

Just hope that (äfter they solve the performance isues on console) they can do something about it :)
