What to do at lvl 65

Just hit level 65 for the first time on my lancer. I am 100% lost on what to do or where to go from here.

  • lvl 65 is where the game begins. Now you grind to increase your item score, get your guile set, do dailys, etc.

Do the quests from Dougal (and the other 65 quests cause free mats) to get your basic gear and start on the gear train. Some quests from him (and others iirc) will give you Slaughter which is the current low tier gear. Enchant that to +12 by farming dungeons for Feed (alk is vendor brought and Masterwork alk is brought for credits (currently 1k for 16 cause of F'ups) or gold from broker.).

Then farm dungeons for Guile gear, enchant that to +12 again then farm higher tier dungeons for materials to make the BiS gear, Ambush (crafted but requires 0 skill) and then enchant that to +15 and you're done for gearing.

Do note: Remember to go get all of your glyphs from Sabex/Catacombs for upgrades. There is another tier for some that is gotten from Island of dawn tokens (Plunder boxes or straight up brought) and you want them all to help reduce points to glyph every important glyph you need. Also look up a guide for what you should Glyph and Roll on your gear (Rolls and Glyphs should be the same thoroughout all guides as they pretty much never change)

Other than just gearing, you can craft if you want (only Etching and making brooches via Armour/Weapon is good currently but it gets improved in a future patch so investing now is a wise choice) or do battleground or whatever you want

So it's just gear enchant repeat?

Yep....Welcome to Korean MMOs, Gear treadmills and endless dungeon grinding everywhere
  • So kind of like Diablo but MMO it seems.

The correct answer to what to do at 65 is.....level all the other classes. I find it more fun leveling all the different classes rather than grinding gear on one. I’m sure at some point I will decide which is my favorite and get the end game gear.
  • Kind of regret buying a founder's pack now. Didn't know it turned into nothing but dungeon grind at end game.

That's kinda how most mmos are though. Even console ones like neverwinter and eso are either dungeon grinds with optional pvp.
  • Not sure if i read over it but also important to do the echoes and ace dungeons. The teleportals for them are in highwatch near the spawn, talk to the guides. Ace are easy and give you intercede as a reward, and the medals are used to buy gear although you need a ton of them, so not super efficient way. but if you collect them on top of doing your dungeons daily, you can maybe make up a roll you cant seem to get. I'm at 416 item level and it is not easy by any means, and crafting is sort of a pain. I suggest finding a good group, otherwise you'll waste so much time with terrible groups and it ruins it.
  • What was that bit about reducing the cost of important glyphs? If I unlock all glyphs do they become less expensive or something?

Some glyphs can be upgraded. Every glyph you get from Sabex/Catacombs/Island of dawn tokens is a straight upgrade (or unlock if it's still locked) in some way for that specific glyph. Those upgrades mean either

1)Increasing the effectiveness of that glyph
    Or
    2) Reducing the cost of that glyph allowing you to glyph more things.

Every guide/Glyph calculator assumes you have every glyphed unlocked for as much effectiveness and glyph points as possible so its a very good idea to work on unlocking them

I have a glyph or two I havent unlocked bc I wasnt going to use them. So far the glyphs I've got have been of the unlockable variety. Superior powerlinked glyphs for eviscerate and what not. I've got several thay say already aquired bc I've got them unlocked. I havent got any that reduced the cost of any glyphs. Do I get those after every glyph is unlocked?

Some don't specifically say "Reduces glyph cost" when you read it's tooltip as it's a minor change, you have to physically compare the glyph item tooltip to the "old" glyph you currently have on. (As in, look at the glyph cost of your current one then go back to the tooltip of the item and read it's cost)

Long story short is: If you can use the glyph item, use it. When you get some Island of Dawn tokens (the upper end ones), open the shop and check the glyphs of all you can unlock. Once you have them all, you don't physically get everything but all your glyphs that can have their costs lowered will have cause you have used the Glyph item that reduces the cost sometime in the past and should have a few spare points unspent if you never went back to check/redo your glyphs
  • It can be quite annoying when you first start out at 65 and when you have to fully upgrade Slaughter to just be able to get able to obtain Guille but it's mainly only annoying for your first character. Once you have 1 character who has went through all of that and made it to Guile set, you can use that character to build up the tokens to give to your 2nd character. That way your second character can start off with going for Guile set right away at level 65, since you can bank the tokens that you get from your first character.
  • I’ve been 65 for a few days, and waiting for friends to catch up to do 3 ⭐️ + dungeon runs. So far, I was able to get all my Slaughter Gear and weapon, got them Masterworked and enchanted to +12. Upgrading glyphs and jewelry. As said above ... do the vanguard quests and any other solo dungeon or battle challenges. I have been surprised how much there is to do at 65 it isn’t all dungeon running.

I’m farming stuff, starting crafting, and working on learning and improving my play. 65 has been a pleasant surprise
