Few questions about archers. Pve.

Hey. New to the game and I'm enjoying my Sorc. My buddy and I will make a toon together. The other classes don't intrigued me other than Warrior(maybe Brawler but I want to dps). Some Hunter questions..

* How's the AoE? I enjoyed gathering up tons of mobs and mowing down on my Sorc (lvl50). Easy.

* Single Target good dps and fluid?

* Do they have cool visuals or just pewpew?. No animations.

* Good with CC?

* I don't PvP but would when bored. They viable, or an easy kill for others?

Any pros and cons regarding Hunters?

(I'm on PS4. Whenever I create a post it keeps saying Error 303 or something on their section, maybe chrome/mobile issue?)

Warrior is not much harder than sorc, as they are both classes that have a LOT of skills and can go for extremely long rotations in comparison with the cookie cutter single button easy mode classes. While warrior of course does not have huge FX, the blinding speed of their attacks makes them a good looker when playing it yourself. I have played this game since 2012 and still feel warrior is a very exciting class to play as.

They are better at single target and boss killing, but all classes in Tera have at least some small AOE. You just can't compare it with a sorc's massive AOE, though.

The class has great single target stun skills, with a good player able to stunlock an opponent for a fair amount of time, both in pve and pvp.

As I explained above, no giant FX, but their mobility and rapid fire attacks (how about 13 stabs in less than a second?) is a show on itself.

I'm full pve but heard that warrior has an average track record for pvp. Some patches it's godlike, other patches is a pretty meh class. Still, they are good survivalists in the correct hands no matter what.

And dunno what a Hunter is in this game....

Warrior has almost no AoE compared to sorc. you can smash multiple monsters with one hit but you still need to touch them with your swords, no flashy jRPG moves when your swords create an AoE explosion. On the other had, AoE moves aren't very useful during endgame as lvl 65 dungeons are mostly boss fights, no long corridors filled with braindead mobs.

Warrior has very good DPS and high skill cap, but really steep learning curve. DPS varies between balancing patches but warrior is one of few classes that never went to bottom DPS-wise, always being either average or top tier.

It's not flashy at all compared to sorc - but as mentioned before, many ppl tend to like these smooth animations and lightning fast attacks. You can just look up any endgame warrior PoV video on YT and then decide if it suits you.

CC is useless in endgame PvE. For PvP it has really good single-target CC skills.

PvP-wise warrior is absolute top-tier for 1v1. For mass PvP it lacks AoE skills but can still be useful.

Warrior has great survival potential, as his basic evasion/positioning skill in not limited by cooldown but resolve bar. Easy in terms of survival and mobility, but as you mentioned, one of the hardest for DPSing, due to having so many skills, animation cancels and lacking fixed skill rotation.

No, warrior has been and will always be the hardest class to play to its max potential, as the rotation changes constantly depending on how many blade draw resets you have, and also all the animation cancels. Sorc is not even close to what a warrior has to do.

    - First of all, they're called archers.
    - I'm assuming you're comparing archers to warrior and sorc?
    - Archer is mostly single target, there are AoE skills but not as much as sorcs. Warrior is single target.
    - All three does good dps and I would consider fluid.
    - Sorcs have flashy animations, archer somewhat, and warrior barely.
    - I don't think you should consider CC abilities at all as they are very irrelevant in PvE. All dps classes are given enough cc skills to counter certain cc mechanics during a boss fight.
    - Warriors are amazing at sitting on healers' face because of how well they can lock them, making warriors very useful in pvp. I don't follow pvp much but the last thing I heard about archers (which is years ago, probably not even relevant) is that kick combo is useless due to stun reduction rolls. I don't know about sorcs but they're always scary in FWC with a red buff and mana boost.
  • If you want to be top tier when awakening hits play warrior, zerk or slayer. If you don’t care just play whatever you want.

You guys are talking about difficulty for min maxing. I'm talking about entry level. Of course min maxing those classes will take a lot more effort, but when starting out, the only clearly visible difference between warrior and sorc is the AOE and the melee vs ranged. They both contain too many skills that can equally overwhelm a new player who has run only ninjas before. Down through the training, you will of course see that warrior does have a few more complicated ways to maintain their DPS, but that does not mean sorc is cookie cutter easy. Since OP has already played sorc, his transition to warrior won't be as hard as a transition from a much beginner friendly class. And that's why I said what I said about sorcs and warriors.

Lastly, and this is my opinion alone, for soloing, I find warrior a ton easier than sorc.
