I remember seeing a thread about people wanting a dps-healer class in the old forums. Is dps-healer not what you meant by combat medic?
Yes its is, then after so much healing it builds 'uber' (rage willpower, 3rd bar lets say) using its ultimatum skill that grants invulnerability for short period to both medic and heavy(tank)
I mean most fantasy mmo that went on for a long time end up with a couple healing classes, and one of the most mytic (<- dunno if I spelled that word correctly) is the bard, buffing everyone with dem songs yo.
And well, I played SRO when I was about 12-13 (Mu online I played aswell) and I was a spearman ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
How about Collector classes? Classes that not only need to be leveled to 65, but need to do certain things to get stronger or have certain skills. For example:
Cartographer (Healer) - A class that gets stronger, the more places you visit. You actually have to walk into the area and make the game load the area name in order to mark it down. More areas mean more skills/stats. Weapon: Giant Brush
True Alchemist (DPS) - Depending on how impatient you are in this game, a True Alchemist will be very expensive to main. All your skills, although powerful, consume drops. And not just Essences, Minerals and Plants. Ores, crystals, and quest items like Trace of Fear, Killian's Chain and those drops needed for VM God knows what equipment are part of the casting skill list. Weapon: Bracelet
Baraka Rune/Glyph Master (DPS) - certain areas in the map have Rune tablets that you need to examine in order to get it. Some runes raise stats, some give skills, etc. This would also be an incentive to collecting Wall of Wordcraft achievements. Weapon: Book
Popori Soul Guardian (DPS/Healer) - basically a pet collector. Getting pets via achievements or class specific missions get you pets that you can activate as an Aura, or cast as a skill. Playing normally will get you every pet in the game, buy buying it just makes you get them earlier. The fairy and doll pets can count you as a healer. (since they are HARD to get) Weapon: Spear
Castanic Cavalier (DPS) - Kind of like a Popori Soul Guardian, but with mounts. The only class where you can mount even during combat. Mounting a pet gives you aura, whilst the ones in reserve can be cast as a skill. Weapon: Gem
Aman Beast Master (DPS/Tank/Healer) - This I got from Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. Basically after a certain number of kills with a particular beast/monster, you earn its soul which is allocated to either stats, or skills. You will need to have a Bestiary book you can look at to check your progress (Argons/Demokrons not included). This class might actually take forever to max since rare BAMS are included in the list. Thus the ability to be all three types. Weapon: Whip
Elfin Argon Hunter (DPS/Healer) - Same as a Beast Master, but limited to Argons/Demokrons. Weapon: Hammer
Well, these are just some fun things I thought up. I doubt they'd be fun for anybody, but I'd enjoy them. Plus the balancing of these classes will be hell.
