Insufficient Memory on massive gaming RIG

So here i am probably done this before who knows. But i am trying to solve my game crashing randomly with 99% of the time no error code and 1% giving me Insufficient Memory error.

My system is as follows:
Windows 10 PRO (updated)
I7 - 8700k @ 4.7 (stock turbo no OC)
Corsair H100I GTX aio cooler
16gb DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RGB @ 2666
ASrock z370 Extreme 4 (newest Bios revision)
Asus GTX 1070 STRIX 8GB OC EDITION (up to date driver and Geforce experience) (only in Gaming mode Via GPU TWEAK II)
Corsair Modular 750w PSU
Asus 24inch 1920 x 1080 144hz display

Since usb devices are a issue for this game cuz the devs are trash here are my usb devices:
Razer Ornata Chroma
Razer Naga Epic Chroma
Logitech G430 7.1 usb headset
Toshiba Cavio ultra slim II (usb 3.0 external HDD) <-- (this was being use long before the crashing started)

Tera install location (as admin):
Intel Rapid storage Tech: 500gb OCZ Toshiba SSDs SSD Raid 0 (game has also been test on a array of other drives)


Now with that out of the way :3

Basically as i said I get random crashing could happen just about anywhere but can 100% be recreated if i go into Velika and or Highwatch.
If I remain away from said town I can play for hours with no issue but if i do that than then go into Velka I will crash almost instantly or with in 5 - 10 min of getting there.


The reason im posting all this probabbly for no success is this has been going on with me for years!
Since a patch around the Gunner or Ninja is my best guess. I had 100% different computer aside from a few Hard drives and the issue still persists and in fact with this 10x stronger system the problem is even worse.

Now i am trying to play basically maxed out because my system can handle it interns of FPS but every time i get in town the text box in game say "Lowering Texture quality due to insignificant memory."

I have reinstalled all manger of programs and driver aside from new windows installation.
I have increased my system page file size to 25gb up from only 8gb or so.

    Similar problem, similar computer. 8700K, GTX 1080, 32 GB RAM, game installed on an M.2 NVME SSD. Pretty absurd to be encountering this kind of behavior in any game.

    Tera is still a 32-bit App. It won't benefit from the computer having massive amounts of RAM. (The only benefit there is if you want to run other things, but Tera itself will never be able to use more than some ~3GB of RAM due to its 32-bit nature, and if it gets that high then it's already flirting with a crash.)

    It's also fairly CPU limited, as far as I'm aware, and hails from a time where multi-cores were not really getting leveraged, so only single core performance really matters for it, not how many you can throw at it.

    As an Unreal Engine game, it uses a texture resource pool. That is, how much video memory it will use for what is currently visible. (ie Within the 'frustum'.) That parameter, from what I can find, is set to 140, so it won't really try to use more than 140 MB of video memory for those textures. When it exceeds that pool size is when it starts to show the message about insufficient memory. No, you haven't actually exhausted the memory of your card, just what the game engine has set as its limits. Yes, this means that much of your VRAM is utterly wasted on the game.

    When it tries to cram too much into the visible frustum, it can cause issues, thus Velika and Highwatch, where that is possible with many characters and if you're running on highest settings.

    This is basically a config issue from the game, as far as I can tell. But unless they are willing to raise the minimum specs then they can't really do much about that, as far as I'm aware. (Please note that I'm not remotely an expert on Unreal Engine, so there might be some potential growth parameter that they are simply not using or not using correctly.)

    Which of course doesn't address any sudden crash to desktop, where the app just closes without any kind of error code. I have encountered those myself, but I have no real idea why that is happening. It feels as though there is just more configuration issues at hand. The TextureStreaming section of the engine could certainly do with an update at least. But given how a sudden stress can cause this crash, there might well be other sections in need of updates.

    The actual crashes could of course be related to something completely different. It just feels like it's related to something like that for me, where the engine just can't deal with the mass of things to draw with the limits it has set. Though of course it could also just be that the highest graphics settings are just too much for a 32-bit App, when there is too much on the screen.

    it's clear you have a network related problem. check your firewall/router settings to allow the ports used by tera. i'm too lazy to check which ones it is. that should solve that 99% of crashes that aren't memory related. as for that last 1%, tera has a bad habit of sometimes bleeding ram until it crashes. usually logging out completely and back in every once in a while will keep that kind of problem in check. teleporting a lot from place to place or dungeons seems to be the biggest culprit.
