Got my Dreadnaught set but now where can I get Tier 8 feedstock?

I got my set but don't know where to farm Tier 8 Feedstock. Please give me some advice. Thank you...

  • The Abscess, Kalivan's Challenge, and Channelworks all drop tier 8 supplies as those are the dungeons for people in Idoneal eating towards Dreadnaught.

Doing quests for vanguard (press H) gives feedstock. I don't remember if the feedstock event is still running, but if so easy dungeons like CW and AB are good sources, otherwise it's just vanguards (which still include those dungeons tho). You can also do stuff like KC to get duplicates of your gear and use those to enchant your gear with.
  • ok Should I wear unenchanted dreadnaught or keep my Idoneal on?

I'm not sure how much diff there is. Hover the mouse pointer over your pieces and you'll see a comparison, so you can check if you'd gain or lose stats on it. If you don't want to run into dungeons with +0 you could just kill a few IoD bams for the daily and get enough so you could at least +6 your weapon (+9 is what you need to get all good rolls, +12 requires masterwork and gives the best damage). Just masterworking the pieces would help a bit too, iirc they give out some scrolls together with getting the gear.
  • You wear Idoneal until Dreadnaught is +9 maaterworked with good rolls. Idoneal is an unenchantable set. This means that the lines Dreadnaught has for +3 +6 and +9 are incorporated into the Idoneal lines (you see increases damage on Idoneal weapon and damage from behind etc you actually have to reroll the Dreadnaught gear to get those same benefits). Never put on unenchantable gear though as the rolls make up a good potion of its defense or damage.
  • Just to add one more thought to this (although a bit late), another method you can use to enchant gear is by using the gear-enchanting method. The tokens you get from doing Island of Dawn dailies make it easy to get duplicate Dreadnaught at a relatively inexpensive rate. With this gear, you don't need feedstock or alkahest to enchant. In this patch, this is one of the intended means of enchanting your starter gear, to complement the traditional feedstock/alkahest method.

Unenchanted DN is less powerful than Idoneal and your level 64 weapon. I know because my mystic is still on idoneal. Not sure where exactly DN becomes stronger, but at +0, Idoneal is better.

For the armor it's around +6 or so, and for the weapon around +9. But you're probably better off getting everything to +9 before switching over. Certainly, you want to switch everything at once to get the set bonus.

Though depending on how available (or in my case how stretched because of 14 characters) resources are, I think starting with weapon and glove would be a good starting idea.

You have to remember though at +6 the "base" stats might be better but unless you have 3 perfect rolls for topline, +3, and +6 you're probably losing damage because Idoneal includes the lines you'd normally roll on your Dreadnaught weapon anyway and you can't get the last rollable line until +9. On top of that, once masterworked these lines increase in amount. I know the flat damage and flat damage reduction go from 4.5% to 6% for example.
  • What kind of rolls am I looking for as a mystic, and once I get to masterworks do i continue to reroll for better stats and will a failure take the masterworks title off, and make it a regular item again? Sort of confused by this atm...

Masterwork 'd items can't be downgraded.
You need spellbind to lock the good lines when re rolling.
  • ahh ok is there a guide or can someone point me in right direction for what the stats should be for the mystic class?

    a) farm farm farm farm farm farm

    or

    b) sell emp for gold, then buy feedstock on broker

FWIW, T8 feedstock is pretty cheap now and aside very bad luck you shouldn't need too much to enchant T8.

Don't need a guide just some common sense although if you're new you might be confused by all those rolls, they're colored, optimal stats are orange, however, not all of them are good

Gloves = Increase Attack Speed, Crit Rate and Endurance
Boots = Regen % MP every 5 seconds, Endurance and Increase Movement Speed by %
Chest =Reduces damage by %, Reduces Frontal Damage by % and Reduced Damage from Enraged by % (The skill line is Reduced Cooldown of Teleport Jaunt) if you're doing PvP replace Reduced Damage from Enraged with either Increases hp by % or Decrease Damage Taken when Knocked Down by %.
Weapon = Increases Attack Speed, Cooldown Reduction, Increases your healing skills by % (these are the bottom lines, the to line is either Increases Attack Speed or Cooldown Reduction depending on what you're more comfortable with but I usually go double Cooldown Reduction)

This is for healing, obviously, if you were to use it for DPS (when you're doing solo stuff and only if you can spare the resources to have 2 sets of gear) then you have the same rolls as above except for gloves where you replace endurance for power and weapon where you replace increased healing for increased damage by %.

That's your basic gear, as someone above mentions, you can lock the rolls in place with Spellbind, it's easy enough to obtain and there's no excuse not to have the right stats on Dreadnaught, as for your feedstock just keep running dungeons and the lowest level Vanguard Dailies (Basilisk, Orisk and... can't remember the type of the third one), you can also exchange the tokens those 3 quests give for Dreadnaught Item just like Counterpoint said, they cost 20 tokens each piece and you can enchant gear with it, highly recommended to do it that way to save up some more resources.

There's also the correct glyphing for your class but I haven't seen a recent guide about those but if you're not in a hurry I'll log in later (re-installing the game at the moment so it'll probably be an hour or two) and check my glyph setups and PM you the link for it.
