Personal Extensive or Personal Rare?

I just hot Masterworks on my weapon and now want to get +12 what is best alkahest to do this. I don't quite understand the tooltips about failure grants significant higher encahtment. PLease explain

    Masterwork has the lowest success rate and gives the lowest enchantment correction. But is the cheapest and easiest to farm.

    For the higher tier alkahest :
    Best alkahest is premium alkahest, 2nd best is rare alkahest and 3rd is extensive.

    Personally i would say dont waste your rare or extensive alkahest on dreadnaught. Use masterwork alkahest only for that and save the other ones for slaughter.

    Your options for alkahests are: masterwork < personal extensive <= extensive < personal rare <= premium in ascending success rate.

    The better the alkahest, when you fail to enchant, you get a higher success rate correction.
    eg. if you fail with premium, the correction to success rate to your next enchant is higher than if you fail with masterwork alkahest.
