Apex Quest Frustration

The apex quest is the worst quest from any mmo ever made. I spent 3+ hours on that quest, up all night, no sleep...... npcs bugging out and having to restart all god forsaken night. Boss after boss... millions of HP pools, what on earth? I was so excited to start the quest line when i hit ilvl 439 but 3 hours in i was ready to abandon the quest and just ignore the new content altogether. EME cmon really? This is NA Tera, nobody wants do go through that crap. I didn't even bring potions because there was no warning whatsoever that this quest would be abnormally time consuming and difficult. That wasnt even fun.... by the time i got the skills I didnt feel enjoy at all. No happy emotion at all. Well its 8:00 AM im going to get some sleep just needed to rant about that trash that kept me up all night. That didn't even feel like I was playing a game anymore more like doing a job without getting paid. Ok rant over, I'm too tired to proof read this so i hope its readable. GOOD NIGHT.

  • Why didn't u bring potions?
If u had to restart at some point during the quest line, that means u've been teleported/resurrected to a nearby outpost with banker and merchant.
  • Quest is only hard if you are a priest a mystic or berserker.
You only need to increase the strenght of your characters.

Add valkyion potions, normal potions, nocteniums infusions as you have.
Also use fest and the yellow cheap consumable.
If have canephora or bravery potion also use one.

There are good etchings for free, just killing mid tier bams on the island of dawn, killing 10 them takes you almost 20 min in frost +0, and you can buy one etching per 45 tokens.

Also add a resolute crystal , not only hardy niveons to survive specially against the blue 67 dragons(the only hard part of the quest).

And is done in frosmetal +0.
I did the quest with my 439 frost+0 priest and were able to kill blue dragons without help.

learn to dps as a mystic/priest
get some focused/savage/spiteful or bitter/pounding niveots (or cruxes if you're cheap af)
    put some dps glyphs
utilize iframes to get behind the bosses
finally get a second set of dps rolls on your weapon, those will come in handy for IoD/guardian mission/pit of smallpox as well
if you're trully committed to dps as a healer, get a second set of dps jewelry and glove rolls, and carving vyrsks

long story short - learn your class and git gud

What the hell, even on my alt +0 frost with no dps rolls it took me 45 mins tops with some help on the blue dracoloths and a lot of afking here and there.
Also something I learned on mystic; don't kill the plants in elenea out of combat or with your thralls, it won't count for the quest and they don't respawn lmao

First off, for the billionth time, EME didn't make the quest. EME can do nothing about the quest. Stop yelling at EME to fix the quest. No one made you stay up all night to play a video game. That's your own fault for not having priorities.

Having done awakening on all of them I will say this:

    - Bring potions, something like 30-40 of the 50% instant restore, or the 75% gradually restore. On zerker, you might want to bring closer to 75-80 potions (seriously lol, but I'm not a great zerker so you might need less.)

    - As far as speed, the fastest for me were: Warrior > Brawler/Slayer > Lancer > Mystic > Priest >>>>> Zerk. Wear DPS crystals on priest/mystic. Try tank mode on Zerk if you are getting owned by dracoliths, but DPS mode should be fine for the three bosses.

    - Warrior incredibly quick, like 35 minutes, Braw/Slay an hour, Lancer, Mystic, Priest all around 1.5-2 hours, Zerk almost 4 hours because I kept dying and restarting (like I said I'm not a good zerk.)

    - Use your potions liberally. If you don't have those two types of potions, you can buy them from ace dungeon for 50 credits each. That's 16 potions per 4x Ace. Run Ace 4x on 2 chars before you go, and you should have plenty of potions.

    - The hardest part is the dracoliths. It's tough, but just use your potions liberally and plod through it.

    - Don't be scared to pop on a wrathful for those 3 bosses in the spirit realm, as they spin so fast, and it's hard to chase rear. Wrathful can speed it up instead of constantly chasing backtime.

I'll admit I like that it's not a faceroll quest. It's good. So many people forgot that Tera used to be hard, and griped how easy BAMs are now, and suddenly an actual hard quest, and people cry? Think of it as an accomplishment.

Full frost brawler takes me 35 mins, no pot
Sc+2 weapon warrior in twistshard gear took me 1 hr and plenty of pot use lol

Haven't tried the other, but yea it's not easy
    - i have a zerk but i dont play him much, seems like very squishy play to me and movement in combat is pretty slow since you'll spend a lot of effort chasing tail
    - i always thought i am sux at zerking, but from reading here it seems everyone else also have the same problem
    - maybe it's just better to play him as a front attack dps: wrathful, focused, double pounding
  • I mean you played yourself by making it more difficult then you complain that it's someone elses fault lmao
  • I did it on my priest yesterday. I didn't find it hard, just tedious. I don't mind hard but taking 15 minutes to kill trash isn't hard, just boring.

Disapointing is the Black Dragon was so easy that you could kill it pressing only one key without moving at all with a Priest u_u

this is the problem when you dont know what you doing with your class and dont have idea this quest is hightier quest
next time be smart, or use more hands or whaterever ( im only find dificult in slayer and berzeker cuz im never used slayer hue )

Kinda understand your pain. Just came back after 6 month break and tried the quest at12am. Bad idea, sadly frost on priest can’t roll for damage without losing its item lvl. I really wish they would let us pick the nostrum stats instead of attackspeed. 0.0 I kinda went to bed and had to restart the mission the next day. Dragons were kinda troll, blue and red if your playing automatic and aggro then:3 you die. That was tilting, oh well after that it was alright.
  • Took me 45-60 minutes on frostmetal +0 berserker. I think the problem is you don't know how to play your class well. There are some decent guide out there even if they are kinda old. I actually thought the quest was a welcome change to the years of easy handouts from bhs; Maybe we can get more quests that bring back a sense of achievement. Maybe they should add a disclaimer to Apex: Not casual friendly faceroll.

I haven't even seen anything about these Apex quests, with m being pretty much retired and all that (though I'm SLOWLY bringing up a slayer to try the quest eventually) Do these bams bring Dungeon only attacks or something so hard to avoid? I keep hearing they are difficult. But if they are just dracoloths, I remember learning those back when Tera was pay to play. Tricky at first but not too much of a challenge once you know their patterns.

A good idea would be, if you have to fight a strong bam you almost die to, try to check the world map for weaker versions you can train on. That way you learn their patterns, which should be the same for the most part. Scytheria fae (the ultra bright pink place with the fairies that wear thongs) has dracoloths meant for level 57 players, if that's the enemy you are having most problems with.

If you are struggling with Apex quest on a healer, then I can expect less buffs and support outta you in a dungeon party run. I only expect the people in my group to do their role properly because I would do my role even better to make the dungeon run a smooth clear.

All I'm reading is whine whine whine and point misdirection fingers at a company that has no control of this.

Instead of complaining, you and everyone else has to adapt to how Bluehole (the DEVELOPER) wants us to play this game. If it's not to your liking, then get out of here. Adapt or Quit.

The Apex quest is easy if you know how to play your class but for some classes is annoying because the time you need to get it finished. So far Priest has been the class it took me the most but the last boss in there was just disapointing. You could be using one single finger without moving from the same spot and you will defeat it without worries u_u (Priest Frostmetal +0 ilvl 439)
