Slayers: Casting speed of Overhand Slash is buggy post Apex
Normal chain of: Eviscerate > Overhand Slash > Measured Slice > Overhand Slash is really buggy. Any Overhand Slash following Measured Slice is never, ever hastened as it's supposed be - sometimes the casting speed of Punishing Blow is also not receiving it's faster casting as it should be as part of this combo.
I like to super lazy and just space bar a lot of the time and not only does the Overhand Slash not hastened following Measured Slice it chains into a second not hasted Overhand Slash often skipping past a Punishing Blow when it's off cool down.
PS: Heading this off at the pass. I'm not in your party so I don't care about your opinion on using space bar for chains so stuff it.

Also, putting a "P.S." disclaimer doesn't make you immune to criticism, if you are using spacebar for your combos on slayer you are playing it 100% wrong.
Manually using your combos will always be faster, it also makes the rotation more fluid. By using spacebar youre literally sacrificing tons of damage as well as uptime on your hardest hitting abilities.
Never do this.
I have severe arthritis irl, the space bar let's me play this game still. Hence why I don't want to hear it.
As far as I'm aware, Measured Slice > Overhand is not a valid chain, which is probably where your issue is coming from. Overhand isn't supposed to fast-cast after Measured Slice.
This may also be the reasoning as to why it's causing issues when trying to chain from that into Punishing Blow.
**haven't learnt new names yet, I think its called punishing blow... the skill that chains after just about anything.
as for spacebarring, I notice no difference in speed between manually pressing each individual button and using a single key to go through the follow-through. Other slayer I know says differently and I think it might have more to do with your ping as well. My ping is extremely high.
If you want to erm... Spacebar Correctly (shut up whoever just quoted this and typed Oxymoron) you need to do 2 things that sound stupid;
1) completely clear the boxes for skill chains, you must be using intrinsic links only. The system lags out if you have anything at all in the chain box.
2) you must spam the crap out of your chain button (don't actually use the spacebar) you may have a skill in the chain button location.
Advantages;
1) you can chill and let the system handle your follow through automatically.
2) Allows you to focus on the fight rather then doing your follow through perfectly.
Disadvantage;
1) will destroy your hands with a repetitive stress injury, you need to spam the crap out of the chain button.
2) less fun to play, doing the follow through yourself, mentally juggling the order of skills you need to push including noticing that a skill is on cool down now but won't be by the time you get to it and also reacting to overhand strike resets. It makes you feel like a pro.
Moreover;
I noticed my slayer seemed slower and was trying to figure it out for a frekken week.
Disabled Mudfish and (even though my ping is way higher) everything started chaining fast again.
Personally, I think it is less demanding on your hands to do each individual button, rather then spamming a chain button.
ONE MORE THING:
I would love to see a video of a pro slayer (with a low ping) doing their routine manually vs just using auto-chains and spamming a single button.
Just want to see if it really is faster.
There's actually good (and by good I mean bad) reasoning for this. BHS programmed inherent chains (skills that automatically prompt chains and can't be removed) differently to chains players can create. Player-made chains have a delay because it doesn't trigger on cast like the inherent chains, but rather by the hit/end of the animation for the previous skill, making it useless.
So using custom chains is always, 100% a bad idea.
Optimally one would manually start a chain, then use the inherent chains via the chain skill menu, until the chain ends, then use a manual input to start a new chain.
If you're playing on low ping it's honestly not much different to playing normally with full-manual input. I remember a really good Slayer/Warrior player from quite a long time ago who had severe problems with his hands, so a 1-9 keyboard setup was impossible, and he didn't have a gaming mouse.
For Tera he made middle-click swap his mouse buttons from LMB/RMB into Ctrl/Alt and rebound all his skills to E/R/F and Alt or Ctrl + E/R/F, with chain on E, so he had access to 8 skills manually and chain on E.
He played pretty damn well, better than most players back then (or a majority now) while only using a few skills manually and the rest used via inherent chains. The only disadvantage was he couldn't use D a lot of the time. It also probably took a long time to get used to.
(Also as a random note, in some cases inherent chains with the chain skill button is faster than normal skills, like in the case of Zerker Sinister/Dexter during Unleash.)
I have one of those nifty Razer mice with 10 buttons on the side. Some days I can use it instead of hitting number keys but that thumb has days it just locks up and that's the end of that. As you can imagine, I really mess with my timing really, really bad using 3 different methods of hitting skill keys. It's much the reason I stuck with my Slayer through all the worst of times.
Thanks for the help.
