I think they gave away free bank slots the last server merge but even if they don't, it's still cheaper than a server transfer.
I think you didn't get what I said. Tried to read it again.
If you have 30 characters on the servers that are about to merge, and you have more cosmetics that you can fit on the maximum bank tabs storage limit, maximum wardrove tabs storage limit, maximum inventory from the max characters allowed in that new server inventory slots and maximum pet tabs storage limit, then what will be done?
There are people that uses most of their characters as extra storage space.
You really are not looking into it at all.
Character storage limit is not affected at all. You still get max 104 slots per character.
For regular bank storage, most items are stackable so I doubt most people can fill up the max 8 pages but they can easily increase that limit.
For wardrobe, the current limit is 4 pages but most people only have 1 page. If they were to merge all 5 servers to 1, they can increase the limit to 20 pages.
They have increase the bank limit from 4 pages - 8 pages so this is a really easy thing for them to do.
You clearly dont understand the issue.
Before selling some cosmetics a half year ago I had 8 bank tabs full, 4 wardrobe tabs full and 12 character inventory maxed full. I don't even play actively the broker, now think about the issue players who play the broker will have.
You brought up the issue about storage and I gave you a possible solution. Increasing the max number of bank and wardrobe tabs will solve this storage problem.
*Not like En Masse can just increase max counts of any of those at their will.
It's only a suggestion. Compared to creating a cross server lfg, this is probably easier for BHS to implement. They literally only have to change 3 numbers in the coding and they can merge all the servers to 1.
Max Characters Slots: 20 -> 100
Max Bank Pages : 8 -> 40
Max Wardrobe Pages: 4 -> 20
U might as well just start anew in whichever server u want and have a gud time.
But besides all that, the server software can't necessarily handle that many simultaneous players when a new class is introduced or an event is going on, or necessarily that much potential data loading for banks and wardrobe. Even if they did some merger, I definitely don't think they'd go from 5 to 1; this game wasn't designed for a "mega-server."
They could use drop down menus instead of tabs for banks and wardrobe. But lets be real, most of the players will have trouble filling up the 8 banks and 4 wardrobe pages. I don't think they would merge all the servers to 1 but 5 servers is way too many. They could merge it to 2 servers. One for PVE and one for PVP. Or since open world PVP is dead anyway, make one server for the east coast and one for west coast players.
And well...
My point was mostly that it's not as easy as just changing some numbers. If it means BHS has to do something, good luck...
I wasn't talking about the servers physical location. I meant 2 PVE servers: "East" and "West", so people can play with others in the same timezone. Changing a few numbers and a minor UI changes is definitely easier than to create a cross server LFG, if that is even possible to do that.
Oh, okay. Well, you can, but I think it'd be misleading to have it labelled that way, since people will think it relates to the server location and have an impact on their ping times. But regardless, it's neither here nor there.
It is at least possible to do cross-server LFG, since it's really not all that different from how instance/battleground-matching already actually works. But anyway, we'll see if they do it, and how quickly...
