Which preferred healer?

I've always played healer on most gsmes especially on MMOs. I just have a couple of questions.

1. Do healers level the same pace compared to other classes?

2. What type of healer do most players preferred for dungeons?

3. Would it be difficult for a healer to solo a boss?

4. Would it be possible to roll from a healer build to a dps build at any time?

5. Can healers even roll as dps?

Thanks. Cheers!

No. But dungeons and kumas are the best way anyways. It's fairly close. At max level, it will take you ages to kill bams though. So, maybe have an alt for those.

There's a lot of mystic fans, but they are usually badly played. I personally prefer priest, but they are both good.

What kind of boss? Solo instances are adjusted to healers, so it's not a problem. Old dungeons aren't a problem. BAMs take a long time. Current content bosses, no. Doubt anyone can.

No healer DPS off spec. You can pick a different assortment of crystals and glyphs to make it a bit better though. But change back before going in a dungeon.

I plan on getting platinum trophy for the game but this is also my first MMO for ps4 so I might be addicted more to it.

    - If dungeons are the fastest way to level up, what's the point of killing BAMs? I read on one of the guide that you need to kill a certain amount of BAMs for trophy to pop up but can't I just hire DPS class to lower it's health for me to kill?

    - For certain trophies you need to kill world bosses and if the healer doesn't do any DPS whatsoever, would it be better to choose a different class instead?

    - Priest is more focus on healing rather than buffs correct? I'm guessing people that wants or prefers Mystic are good in dodging and for speed runs?

Kinda. You'll have an easier time leveling as a Mystic as it has decent DPS in story content + self heal + mp restore + a tank minion and a dps minion that can be deployed at the same time.
    2. What type of healer do most players preferred for dungeons?

Both do well to be honest. If you're into min/maxing and being competitive then Mystic has the edge thanks to party buffs. Priest has better heal skills but Mystic does just fine and has a multi-lock cleanse/heal. They're just as good as each other imo.
    3. Would it be difficult for a healer to solo a boss?

Depends. BAMs are easy for Mystics to deal with for the most part thanks to minion summons. Anything lvl 63+ will require a group as you can't significantly outlevel at that point.
    4. Would it be possible to roll from a healer build to a dps build at any time?

    Nope.
    5. Can healers even roll as dps?

    Nope.

Also if you're going for the platinum. Make sure you completely avoid Saleron's Sky Garden. When you get to that part of the game via natural progression, ignore the dungeon and just grind out mobs until you level enough to pursue a higher leveled quest. Saleron's Sky Garden is the cause of a nasty bug that completely stops trophies from popping. Once you have all the trophies (including World Boss trophies and all dungeons) you can go back and easily solo Saleron's Sky Garden to get the final trophy and the plat.

  • Mystic is more aggressive as they are heals/support dps while Priest is more pure heals with buffs/debuffs. So each cater to a different play style.

Dungeons queues aren't instant. You will want to do something while waiting. It gets you a gear token aswell.

Healer also doesn't die easily. You should be able to solo anything, it just takes a long time due to the low dps.

They are both the same at high level really. They are both healers that debuff/buff the party. DPS'ing isn't a thing for the most part. Only when your party is good at avoiding damage and you got nothing to do. You should never just idle.
I would say the only DPSing the mystic does more than the priest is deploying their damage thralls.
  • With the new leveling experience, I would say to ignore Kuma's because you only get rewards IF your side wins and that's almost an hour wasted. With exp buffs they just hand out and doing only vanguard request you can really 1 - 65 in 3 days even less if dedicated.
