Here are some few suggestions from a returning player
Greetings forums users,
This post is a list of suggestions that i think could help improve the game significantly and solve most issues Tera console and Tera in general is facing. I've gathered those suggestions after playing for 2 years on pc (from 2014 to 2016 on Killian EU) and 1 month on Ps4 (since release).
-The main issues are that the active population on many servers is low and decreasing and that queue times for many pve and pvp instances is really long. To help solve that, i would first suggest to merge servers so that only 5 remain per platform (na west, na east, latin america, eu west, eu east), that way, players would choose a server that gives them the better ping. Also, to remove the barrier between PvP and PvE servers, players could just choose between PvP and PvE during character creation (for example, when making a character and choosing the PvP option, the game would consider it as if you were on a PvP server meaning you can learn the outlaw declaration skill and use pk, in the other case, if you chose PvE only, the game would consider it as if you were on a PvE server and you cannot affect or be affected by other players in the open world outside of duels).
-Most of the successful multiplayer games nowadays have an "ephemeral" gameplay meaning that they are not about the "grind" but about the actual gameplay and being able to access the majority of what the game has to offer since the beginning but still being interested enough to keep playing over time. Now don't get me wrong, there should be a "grind", there always is a "grind" in any game popuplar or not and i know that getting to level 65 with full slaughter gear is really easy, but once you get there, you've pretty much seen everything there is to see, i mean it is not doing a dungeon with mobs that hit harder/faster and survive more to get a new gear only to do the same dungeons with the same plots and mechanics over and over again that is gonna keep the majority playing. No one can claim to know what would make Tera one of the best and most popular games on the market, but i think a lot of ideas could help improve that aspect, for example, make the equalized system wider and expand it more, even to PvE (You can queue for any 65 dungeon regardless of level and ilevel, once in the dungeon if you don't match the recommanded level and gear, you will have equalized level, abilities, glyphs and gear. However, if you do match the recommandations, you get to keep your current gear and stats, similar to the fraywind canyon system. This could also work in open regions, if you don't match the recommendations you get get equalized and standard gear/abilities while in that region, if you do, there simply is no change). To help solve the "deja vu" issue i would either suggest unlocking all the instances that were in tera since the beginning at once (ravenous gorge and old instances like that), or to make the rotations a lot more frequent (on a 2 week basis for instance). Last idea for this part is simply to significantly improve the amount of resources obtained from instances/the open world and change vanguard and battleground rewards so that players don't get limited and get that feeling of "well, i want to play more, but it is more rewarding if i just wait for the reset"
Now i know that these last suggestions may seem impossible because they require work or approval from BHS, however, i still think they could really help improve the game a lot that is why i am stil going to post them but i'll try not to go too much into the details:
-Skip some patches so that way at one point in time, PC and console players will have the same content and gameplay experience
-Cross platfrom (either between both consoles or between Ps4 and PC servers, similar to final fantasy's system)
-Make all races equivalent regarding animation times and ranges
-Remove race/gender lock for certain classes
-Visual/Textures upgrade, optimized for both consoles and PC
-Have a team dedicated to work on events with actual content in order to have an interesting event every week
-Try to work on the competitive aspect (greatly promoting 3v3 or an eventual 5v5 could work, even competitive PvE)

And the standardized level/gear/glyphs in dungeons is another bad idea. The whole point of improving your gear is to get into higher tier. All that would result in is more people q'ing in that don't have the knowledge/experience or game mechanics to complete the higher dungeons anyway, and even if they did get carried, then they'd be rolling on gear against people who actually DID do the legwork.
If you'd rather be alone in a game, you better not download a massively multiplayer online roleplay game. You are making me say what i didn't, your explanation has nothing to do with my argument therefore it can neither support it or debunk it.
I made this forum post so that eme's staff and the devs could hear my suggestions and maybe reply, you are free to support them (my suggestions) or not as long as you don't twist my sayings.
This will be my last reply on this post even though i will keep reading it.
I get the feeling you just dislike the gameplay itself, so maybe just try a difderent game.
Just remember, its a korean rpg aka grindfest. Plus even if everyone on the forum would agree with you, they wont use a single idea of yours because that would result in completely redesigning a game that is pretty successfull since already 6 years ago.
Stick around long enough yo will notice they will have a lot of events mostly to get more money from people. Strongbox events are good example you can never grind enough keys when its so much easier to swipe that cc and get emp for keys.
Don't get me wrong I am enjoying terra on console and have played on PC since alpha stage. Console players need to be aware that no matter how much they complain nothing will change quickly if it even does. They will pull the game before having to fix major issues (like optinization) and I don't see them changing the game engine as long as people keep spending money they will be like throw more items in store to keep customers sidetracked from our poorly designed gameplay.
That doesn´t mean anything actually. While Zyrnaxis is already one of the most populated servers, there can be times everywhere when not many people are at one spot. You know, Teras maps are big and you can´t just count the people in a small area... actually Zyrnaxis is fine mostly, i always see many people around, it doesn´t feel dead really.
Not even talking about that many players are avoiding chanel 1 or highwatch because of the lags or pvp requests. Anyway, for me there are a lot of people always in highwatch, else there wouldn´t be such a lag everytime i port back to it.
