I actually feel like it's not so bad now, though there's still a lot of room for improvement and balance.

Yeah, the newer classes remain easier to play and reward you with less effort and overall can have higher performance, but that's not what everybody finds fun or satisfying.

that's not true, at least 80% of the community has made a ninja be it alt or not and probably enjoyed it someway.

It was pure fun to kill Hydra using ninja IMO.
  • Folk talking about the slayer dps makes me chuckle. You have to wallow in a class until higher levels before it even starts to feel decent. But bottom line is Ninja is way OP compared to old DPS classes. But don't let that sway you. I love my warrior due to how flexable the class is. I can go from dps to tank in order to prevent a wipe because the tank died.

Just find a class style you enjoy and embrace it, even old school classes can be a lot of fun like archer or sorcerer. I love the changes they made to healer classes this year but you'll rarely hear that spoken about. I kind of laughed the first time I two shot a bam while leveling with my Mystic I created during the double xp event. I really never expected that to be possible while leveling but with back crits and two pets, well...

I leveled 6 characters during the double xp event. Sadly, the slayer I deleted while it was in it's 20's during the event. It just felt too sluggish and unresponsive. I already had a 65 Berserker and just couldn't justify a class that seemed like a poor impression of it that didn't seem as flexable. But they say the dps is higher for the Slayer so give it a try if you have the time. My two cents is if you want a class that can help a group, don't forget the warrior either :awesome:
  • To be fair, the Zerker also feels like [filtered] until you get it to 30+ and doesn't feel 'good' until near the end, IMO.

Slayers shape up similarly, and are fantastic post 60, once you get to "Spacebar hero" phase you really get a notion of combat momentum. It is pretty satisfying to get a good reset string.

Can't speak to their DPS, but as far as feeling good, I think Slayers are far and away the best of the vanilla classes.
