Need to Reset a Dungeon... How?

Hi All,

I'm new and tried to do the Cultist Refuge Dungeon myself (not sure if I had a choice to collect a party...) and I've gotten to the point where you have to keep Davinia alive for 5 minutes. I killed all the monsters, saw a message that said something like, "Protection is over" but Davinia is no where to be found - talking to her is the next step in the quest.

I read somewhere I need to reset the Dungeon?

Is this necessary and if so, how do you do it?

Appreciate any help!

By the way you can look for a dungeon party using /lfg or the lfg window (press Y by default), or you can use instance matching (you can reach it from the lfg window or the vanguard window (H by default)). Below 65, most people use IM instead of lfg though.
  • Thanks! Okay, dumb question... if you look for a party either way, how do other people who want to join actually join AND how do they get to the dungeon I'm at?

On IM, it completes automatically once it's found enough party members (leveling: 4 DPS/tanks and a healer; endgame: 1 tank, 1 healer, 3 DPS) and they'll have a pop-up telling them that "instance matching for [dungeon] complete" and giving them an option to teleport inside. On LFG, they can ask to join, and the leader of the LFG receives a whisper messages with the name, class and level of the player, and an accept or refuse button. (Sometimes they just ask for invitation, you can inv people to party by typing /invite [name] ). They can teleport to the dungeon entrance using a corresponding teleport scroll (bought from specialty merchants) or by using the vanguard quest window (H, click on the quest for theme dungeon and click on go to dungeon entrance option; this is free).
  • Okay, that helps, thank-you! Once you have a party together, how do you talk with them? ( I've been in a party and switched to the party tab of the chat window and not been able to type anything in it...)

And, once you except someone into the party with LFG, if I understand correctly, you have to wait for them to show up at the entrance? ( they may need to go get a teleport scroll if that 'interior' is not in their Vanguard Requests window...)

for different chats you can use their commands, /p for party, /g for guild, /t for trade, /w "insert name here" for whisper, /n for notice (only if you're party leader and most people don't use it since it shows the msg to everyone in the party at the center of the screen... thus it can be annoying to some) I think /a for area and that's it... you can also switch between chat channels by pressing left or right arrow on your keyboard as long as you haven't typed anything.

As for LFG, yes, you have to wait for the party members to show up at the entrance OR you can go inside the dungeon and wait for them at the start of it. In case they don't know how to it's not a bad idea to tell them any Specialty Merchant at any town sells a teleportal scroll for every dungeon in the game and they rarely cost more than 1 gold.

Other channels include /c for global and /i for raid, these are ones you might need to use sometime in the future. If someone whispers you, you can also just type /r to reply to them in whisper, it spares you from having to type their names. This always replies to the last person who whisped you. And of course, there is /s for say chat. Only people in your close proximity can see this.

Thank-you guys! I managed to form a three person party and do a dungeon. Only it was weird. When we got to the main bosses the rooms were empty. I then went in again and managed to do it myself. Point is - I got 3 people together to do something. Always soloed in Star Wars - the only other MMORPG I've played, so forming parties is new to me as is chatting. Appreciate the guidance :)

Maybe one or some of you did the instance just before without resetting it. If this happens, just type /reset and it should all be fine. (This isn't an issue in instance matching, once you leave the party, the dungeon should reset automatically.) This is true for any instance, including solo quest etc. instances, if something like this happens, just /reset and it should solve the problem.
  • Okay, thanks, got it :)

I'm 100% sure if you do a dungeon but neither complete nor reset when you invite people to a party to run it you port into your unfinished dungeon... I believe this only happens if you're the party leader and the one with the unfinished dungeon.

When you attempt to solo a dungeon it doesn't reset if you leave until a few hours (I think?) pass, so if you're ever in the situation where you couldn't finish a dungeon just type /reset, alternatively if you intend to use IMS there's no need to reset as you'll port into a fresh dungeon every time and it will also reset after you clear it and /drop.
