Keep Dying in Manaya's Core...

Hi All,

I've tried Manaya's Core 6 times now and I've died and gotten teleported out each time. I get to this one fighting platform and something happens that keeps draining hit points, even though nothing is attacking me, until I'm dead.

I tried reading guides, but seriously, they are so complicated... do you really need to memorize all that to get through it? I don't have the gold to buy a quarter of the things they recommend. They tell you where everybody needs to be standing for each fight, at each point during the fight - the people I join with in IM don't talk about the dungeon, they just run in, every time, so no way to coordinate anything.

Can someone tell me:
a) What might be draining me and how to prevent it
b) What is a "debuff"? ( I read about one called 'Cellular Decay' that may be my problem but don't know how to avoid it)
c) How high in level I can go before this level 60 dungeon stops being listed in IM? ( I'm 62 now and thinking I need to be higher)

Oh, and my equipment is 320.

Any help appreciated!

Jump when the screen goes all funny and the debuff will stop ticking your health. It comes back but just keep jumping to "shake" it off so to speak when it does.
edit: if you're having trouble jumping while in combat disable all chained skills. "k">"chained skills">untick "show default chained skills" and remove every chain on that list. how you should start playing from now on anyways.
  • No, not going alone but I'm always the first to die. You mean all I might have to do is jump, lol ? Will let you know how it goes. Thanks for the replies!

Hmm looked up that debuff. I was assuming you were talking about the second boss. But I see cellular decay is on the first boss. No simple way to get rid of that one. Just hope to get a team that can dps the boss fast or heal through it. Or what I'd suggest is to go do story quests and get 65 and get end game gear first. Level 65 is where you wanna be asap. Everything else is subsidiary and not very beneficial. The entire leveling experience in TERA is essentially a teaser, and expects you to get max level to run end game dungeons asap.
  • Okay. So I won't lose access to Instance Matching for this level 60 dungeon at level 65?
  • You will lost instance matchmaking for MC/AC but you won't stand to gain anything from any sub-65 dgs once you reach 65 anyways. The rewards for those dgs is nothing compared to lvl 65 dgs, and by the time you want to go do achievement hunting and stuff you'll be able to just solo it easily. Like, really easily.
  • It's just I can't continue with that storyline until I finish the dungeon... hope I don't need it to unlock other storyliines...
  • Nah, I mean red quests. Those are the "main story" missions that people usually focus to get the level 60,62, and 64 gear + the xp for lvl 65. There is one lvl 60 red quest that starts outside of velika that is the final story mission and takes 2-3 hours to finish but will get you the gear I was talking about, and some pocket change for post-65. Probably will just straight up get level 65 before you're even done if you've already been running around doing stuff other than that quest line for a while.
  • Well, it is a red story line that requires this dungeon... but I've been on another line up to level 63 so hopefully this is the one you mean takes me up to 65.
  • I did it! You were right the first time - all I had to do was 'jump' when that thing started draining me. Hope someone else who needs it finds this and doesn't go through 8 tries, LOL

    Thanks for the info :)

I Think I mentioned to you TERA ha Story Arcs ? can't remember, the Argon Queen part (Manaya's Core) is just one of those, it used to be the last arc about... 5 years ago I think, the only main story quests past level 60 is the one you're following right now that got you to 63, this quest line takes you t 64 and a little more if you follow it, ideally if you do some vanguards while doing those you'll hit 65 either before or barely right after you finish that line.

As soon as you hit 65 you'll need to go to Highwatch and meet with Dougal, he'll hand you over your fresh 65 gear which will be the only gear you'll be using from now on since it can be enchanted then upgraded to the next gear set, this set is a major improvement over w/e gear you get below 65 which makes soloing all content below 65 posible without much effort (Sabex Armory and Macellarius Catacombs are a bit harder to solo but doable)
  • Yes, after I finished Manaya's Core I saw that storyline didn't go any further. I've made it to 65 now and still have some of the other story line to do. I've gotten the 'Guardian Armor' set - is this the one you mean can be upgraded? Did some dungeons and got enough stuff to enchant it - but I don't know how (or what is needed) to upgrade it?

Thanks for all the help! :)

In order to upgrade you need to enchant it to it's max level, in this case it's +6 for the 4 main pieces, after that you'll notice you can no longer enchant but a button saying upgrade will be clickable in the enchant window, it's also in your inventory window, right next to the enchant window, once you can upgrade it'll tell you what you need, jewelry/belt can only be upgraded.

Progression goes Guardian > Twisthard > Frostmetal > Stormcry. Guardian only being enchantable to +6, everything else to +9 with reduced chances of success the higher you go, that's what the gear experience is for, it makes the chance higher up to a point. Guardian is 100% always, and I think twist is 100% for +1 too and then it starts getting lower.

You mentioned you were in TR, yes? If you'd like I could answer any doubt you have about the game, class, gear or glyphs in-game, I have a char there, name's Vilbrandur, you can send me a friend invite.
  • Okay, thanks!! I was able to upgrade my robe, boots and hand wraps but not enchant them. I keep having to do dungeons to get Golden Talents ( I even bought some on the trade market) This only raised my item level to 428 from 425 and I need to get it to 431 to progress in my red story line by completing Thaumetal Refinery. Can't Instance Match until I'm at that level. Are dungeons the best place to get Golden Talents (and other enchanting materials)?

I sent you a friend request.:) Uncertain how we go about chatting online, which channel do we use?
