Best Non-Tank Class Which Has a Lot of HP?

Hi All,

My first character is a sorceress, so can't take a lot of damage. I'd like to try a new character who is hardier, but as I am a casual player, I don't want the responsibility of playing a Tank well in group dungeons - it wouldn't be fair to the other players and I've no desire to learn about Tank dynamics.

Is there a class which has a lot of HP that isn't a Tank? And does race matter?

Should be warrior, but tbh HP doesn't matter. If you're constantly taking hits knowing that your healer can't keep up, you will die no matter how high your HP is.

Gunner might be somewhat sturdier than sorcerer because of the metal armor.

Valkyrie and warrior have a lot of iframes on short cd, so I suppose they might be somewhat more forgiving when it comes to dodging. Valk is the simpler of the two. Berserker has metal armor and a frontal block, and also is pretty powerful atm.

However, I've heard that sorc actually has a higher base endurance than most, and also has a lot of movement skills to get you out of trouble. It's very important you figure out how to move out of the way of attacks and how to dodge (iirc you have an invincibility frame on backstep, stoneskin and warp barrier [the length of which you can double with a glyph], not sure about teleport jaunt). You can also increase your max HP by using feasts (or possibly other consumables) or joining a guild, who might have the HP increasing guild skill. Some accessories you should also roll HP% on, but that's only... earrings I think, or the rings ^^" Either one or the other would have HP% and Endurance roll, the other would have crit/power depending on your class. As Haloist said though, on the whole being able to not get hit above your healer's capacity is more important than how much HP or endurance you have.
  • I'm confused, if Warrior is not a Tank then why do many of its skill descriptions list "drawing aggro" as an attribute? Not sure what is meant by " a lot of iframes" or "short cd" in reference to Valkyrie and Warrior. Still a newbie here...

I suppose I need to rework my sorcerer with some of your suggestions as without the neophyte resurrections I tend to die in above 431 dungeons.

Thanks for the input guys, appreciate it!

Sorry, too used to using these terms ^^" "iframe" is an invincibilty frame - these skills, for a short period of time allow you to dodge all damage (however, in most instances, there are a few mechanics that cannot be iframed); you could call it a dodge I guess. Keep the word "iframe" in mind though, because you'll see it in guides and tips and everywhere basically. "cd" is short for cooldown.

Basically what I meant was that these classes have more tools for dodging. (Okay, Valkyrie only has one of such skill, but if you don't spam it, it won't go on cooldown, and even if it does, it's only 2 or 3 seconds. Warrior has more than one, and uses one of them from a different resource, so it's not cooldown-based.)

Also, warrior can be built to be either tank or damage dealer, which is why it also has tanking skills. You shouldn't use these if you want to dps.
